On the U.S. PlayStation Store, the price in effect when you complete a purchase is the price that applies. A later discount does not automatically entitle you to a refund. Before buying, check the exact game edition or add-on, your account’s region, and the offer’s end date on its live Store listing.
How to read a PlayStation Store sale price
A Store listing may show a current offer price beside an original price and a percentage reduction. Treat those figures as the offer displayed for that specific item, not as a promise that another edition, add-on, platform, or account will receive the same deal. Prices and availability can change.

How long does a sale last?
Promotions can apply to specific products or qualifying combinations and may have additional conditions. Sony says offers stop being valid when changed or removed, or after any end date or time specified in the offer. The offer’s displayed terms—not an assumed sale schedule—are the useful guide to whether a price is still available.

Will PlayStation refund you if a game gets cheaper?
A price drop after purchase does not, by itself, create an entitlement to a refund under Sony’s U.S. terms. Sony’s cancellation policy is a separate matter: for game and add-on purchases, a cancellation request generally must be made within 14 days of purchase, and downloading or streaming must not have started. Once it has started, the purchase is generally not refundable unless the product is faulty. Applicable local law may provide additional rights.

Check the U.S. PlayStation Store cancellation policy for the policy details and request process. These rules are U.S.-specific; the policy for the buyer’s region may differ.
Wallet funds and gift cards are different from game discounts
Adding funds to a PlayStation Store wallet does not lower a game’s listed price. Sony’s U.S. policy says wallet top-ups cannot be canceled and wallet funds are non-refundable. It does not cover gift cards or vouchers bought outside the Store, so the external retailer’s terms govern those purchases. A gift card may fund a wallet, but it is not itself a discount on the game.

Should you buy now or wait?
Base the decision on the current price for the exact item, the promotion’s stated end date and conditions, and how long you are willing to wait. There is no guarantee that a later sale will happen or offer a lower price. If you buy now, the checkout-time price applies; a subsequent promotion does not automatically adjust the completed transaction.
