MyZubster’s central design idea is straightforward: when a question has already been answered by a recorded observation, retrieve that record instead of asking an AI model to invent the answer again. Nicola Lorenzini’s October 3, 2026 account frames this as an evidence-first approach to building software, with comic panels illustrating the journey from an imagined world toward a prototype—not serving as screenshots or proof that every depicted feature exists.
Why distinguish recorded facts from plausible answers?
“How can an AI system distinguish between something that was actually recorded and something that merely sounds plausible?” That question motivates MyZubster’s evidence-first design. A fluent response can still be ungrounded; as Lorenzini puts it, “Because an eloquent answer is not necessarily a grounded answer.”

The intended division of work is to use retrieval or deterministic paths when an exact recorded observation answers the question, and use model generation when interpretation or synthesis is needed. This matters because generated language and recorded evidence are different kinds of output: a model may help explain information, but a confident answer alone does not establish that an event or observation was recorded.
What the prototype is described as doing
In Lorenzini’s account, a user works through Open WebUI, which connects to a MyZubster API compatible with the OpenAI API format. An observation receives an identifier, is persisted, indexed, and made searchable. Retrieval can draw on Qdrant and MyZubster evidence; Ollama is used when generation is actually needed. These are descriptions of the prototype, not independent measurements of its accuracy, privacy, or security.
#1 Best Overall
- Recorded observation: an item intended to be persisted and identifiable.
- Retrieval: a path to find existing evidence, including through Qdrant.
- Generation: a model-assisted path for interpretation or synthesis rather than a substitute for an available authoritative record.
The project’s related technical account describes a Python API and Docker-based local environment, persistent observations and local records, an internal-ledger experiment, economic simulations kept separate from real financial activity, a Zorgax integration layer, and a catalog for creative work. It identifies an experimental release candidate, v0.1.0-rc2, and says the software is not presented as production-ready. [Source]
What development testing revealed
Lorenzini reports finding an observation in persistent storage that was missing from Qdrant. That specific mismatch illustrates why a system needs checks across both storage and retrieval layers: saving a record and making it retrievable are separate steps. The account does not provide a failure rate or establish that retrieval systems generally have this problem.

The design goal is also to avoid rewriting an authoritative description with generated prose when no generation is needed. Retrieval can return the existing record; generation has a different role when the task calls for interpretation or synthesis. The distinction is an architectural intention, not proof that every response from the prototype is grounded or correct.
What the comic does—and does not—prove
The comic is a narrative device for describing a software-development journey. It is not a product interface capture, a demonstration that each illustrated feature is implemented, or evidence that MyZubster is a fully decentralized platform. As Daniel Ioni writes in the related technical account, “A comic can illustrate a milestone, describe an unresolved problem or introduce an ambitious idea.” The same account cautions that a prototype does not establish reliability, security, or scalability, and describes Neon Plaza as a creative direction rather than a production-ready 3D metaverse.

The project repository describes Nicola’s N4K48 work as a public, interactive pilot and links a comic catalog and provenance metadata. It cautions that visual assets are not, by themselves, technical, scientific, or financial evidence. It also distinguishes an NFT candidate from a minted NFT, and says the experimental ledger remains distinct from the repository’s canonical accounting ledger until integration is implemented. What the October 4, 2026 checkpoint establishes
A project account dated October 4, 2026 reports a working VPS bridge deployment and simulated end-to-end behavior. Collaborators reported HTTP 200 for the local broker health endpoint, HTTP 401 for a public node endpoint without credentials, HTTP 403 for a public administrative endpoint, and HTTP 200 for an authenticated node request. They also reported a healthy updated container and zero unexpected container restarts after deployment.
These are project-reported checkpoint results, not an independent audit or broad performance study. At that checkpoint, a complete authenticated connection with Nicola’s independent computer was still pending. The reported endpoint responses and container status therefore describe a limited deployment check, not proof of production readiness or end-to-end validation across all intended participants. MyZubster’s story involves records, software behavior, creative work, and proposed financial or ledger functions. Evidence in one category does not automatically prove a claim in another. A saved observation may document what the system recorded; a successful simulated request may demonstrate a particular check; a comic or provenance entry may describe creative work. None, on its own, establishes copyright ownership, a real payment, an NFT mint, or the reliability of the whole platform.

The same distinction applies to contributor activity: the project’s contributor workflow separates a merged contribution from payment, and distinguishes AI-generated visuals from evidence of real-world events. Those boundaries help readers understand what a project record supports—and what it does not.
