1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteGyre does not need your home internet connection to upload the continuous 24/7 broadcast. After you upload your videos to Gyre, its servers send the stream to YouTube. Your connection is needed to upload those files and manage the service, but the available guidance does not specify a minimum home upload speed for Indian users. YouTube’s encoder bitrate recommendations are not a broadband requirement for the Gyre workflow.
Does your internet need to stay on while Gyre streams?
No—not to send the ongoing broadcast from your home. Gyre describes its server as receiving and forwarding the stream, so your computer and home connection do not continuously upload the live video once the cloud stream is running. You still need internet access to set up the service, manage the stream, and upload the source videos to Gyre storage.

This is different from sending a live feed directly from a local encoder, such as a computer running streaming software. In that setup, the encoder continuously uploads video to YouTube, so its connection must sustain the outgoing stream. With Gyre, the continuous feed comes from Gyre’s servers after the files have been uploaded.

There is no supported fixed home-upload minimum—10 Mbps or otherwise—for keeping a Gyre stream running. A number such as 10 or 14 Mbps can refer to the bitrate of a live encoder’s feed to YouTube, not the speed your home connection needs for Gyre’s cloud-delivered broadcast.

YouTube’s encoder figures are for a different connection
YouTube’s live encoder guidance, accessed on October 3, 2026, recommends these ingestion bitrates by format, resolution, and frame rate:
| Video setting | H.264 recommendation | AV1/H.265 recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 8 Mbps | 6 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 14 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 8 Mbps | 6 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 17 Mbps | 12 Mbps |
These are recommended rates for an encoder sending a live feed to YouTube. They do not establish the residential upload speed needed for Gyre to stream from its servers, and they are not an India-specific internet-plan threshold. YouTube advises encoder users to test their upload bitrate and select a quality their connection can sustain; that guidance applies to the encoder-to-YouTube connection, not to the continuous home upload in Gyre’s cloud workflow.

What upload speed affects with Gyre
Your upstream connection affects how quickly your video files reach Gyre storage. Gyre’s Help Center says all video files must be uploaded there to create a stream, including videos already uploaded to YouTube and videos in existing playlists. A faster sustained upload rate can shorten this initial transfer, but Gyre’s published guidance does not set a minimum speed or a target upload time for India.
Estimate time for your own files
Use the total size of the files you plan to upload and your sustained upload rate—not the download speed shown in your internet plan. A rough lower-bound estimate is:

- NIGHTHAWK WIFI 6 ROUTER FOR YOUR WHOLE HOME: Delivers fast, reliable WiFi across every room of your apartment or small home for streaming, gaming, video calls, and smart home devices, all running at the same time without slowing each other down.
- WORKS WITH YOUR EXISTING INTERNET SERVICE: Pairs with your existing modem or gateway via ethernet. Compatible with most cable, fiber, DSL, and satellite providers. Some gateways and modem router combos may require bridge mode. No coax needed.
- SET UP AND MANAGE YOUR NETWORK WITH THE NIGHTHAWK APP: Download the free Nighthawk app on iOS or Android for guided setup. Manage WiFi, run speed tests, pause devices, and set up guest networks from anywhere. Active internet required.
- READY FOR THE DEVICES YOU ALREADY OWN: Your phones, laptops, and TVs work right out of the box. WiFi 6 delivers speeds up to 1.8 Gbps across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Backward compatible with WiFi 5 and earlier.
- COVERAGE IN EVERY ROOM: Covers up to 1,500 sq. ft. for up to 20 connected devices. Walls, floors, and interference can reduce range. Larger or multi-story homes may benefit from a NETGEAR Orbi mesh WiFi system.
Upload time in seconds ≈ file size in bytes × 8 ÷ upload rate in bits per second.
For example, a 10 GB library at a sustained 10 Mbps upload rate would take roughly 2 hours 13 minutes under ideal conditions. Real transfers can take longer because of network variation, protocol overhead, Wi-Fi conditions, and other traffic. Treat this as a planning estimate, not a promised transfer time. If you have a large library or a deadline, test a representative upload and allow extra time.

There is no established India-wide sustained upload statistic or provider-specific speed tier in the available guidance, so a single recommended Indian broadband plan would be misleading. A speed test can help you see what your connection sustains at the time of testing; it does not turn that result into a Gyre minimum.
Prepare videos for Gyre
Gyre’s Help Center lists these preparation parameters for HD and Full HD files. They are vendor-published settings, not a statement of a required internet speed:
Best Value
- Dual band router upgrades to 1200 Mbps high speed internet (300mbps for 2.4GHz plus 900Mbps for 5GHz), reducing buffering and ideal for 4K stream
- Full Gigabit Ports - Gigabit Router with 4 Gigabit LAN ports, ideal for any internet plan and allow you to directly connect your wired devices
- Boosted Coverage - Four external antennas equipped with Beamforming technology extend and concentrate the Wi-Fi signals
- MU-MIMO technology - (5GHz band) allows high speeds for multiple devices simultaneously
- Access Point Mode - Supports AP Mode to transform your wired connection into wireless network, an ideal wireless router for home
- Resolution: 1280×720 or 1920×1080.
- Video codec: H.264.
- Video bitrate: 3072–6144 kbps.
- Audio bitrate: 128 kbps.
- Frame rate: 30 fps.
The help article also contains a “44.1 kHz” figure next to wording about frame rates. Kilohertz is an audio sampling-rate unit, not a video frame-rate unit, so do not interpret that figure as a frame-rate setting. Gyre’s newer explanatory article says its built-in converter can optimize files that do not fit its platform requirements.
Basic cloud-stream workflow
- Connect your YouTube channel. Follow Gyre’s channel-connection flow and confirm the destination channel before starting.
- Upload the source videos. Transfer the files to Gyre storage; previously uploaded YouTube videos also need to be uploaded to Gyre according to its Help Center guidance.
- Choose a playlist. Select the uploaded videos you want included in the continuous stream.
- Start the broadcast. Gyre’s server sends the stream to YouTube. Your own connection is no longer the continuous video uplink, although you need it to manage the service.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want a YouTube channel kept live from uploaded videos without leaving a computer on, StreamNeo is another cloud option. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud; it does not broadcast from a camera.
Quick Recap
- Nothing at home has to stay on for the stream to continue.
- One flat price per slot covers any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode or quality tiers.
- Automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card; it is one free day per account.
- Monthly: $9.99 per month.

Common speed and setup misunderstandings
- “My plan is below YouTube’s 14 Mbps figure, so Gyre cannot stream.” That figure is YouTube’s H.264 recommendation for a 1080p30 live encoder feed. It is not a published Gyre home-internet requirement.
- “My download speed is high, so the files will upload quickly.” File transfer to Gyre uses your upstream connection. Check sustained upload performance rather than relying on download speed.
- “The stream can start before the files reach Gyre.” Gyre says the files must be uploaded to its storage to create a stream. If a file is not yet available there, its upload remains a prerequisite.
- “A speed test guarantees the stream will work.” A speed test can inform upload-time planning. It does not establish a minimum for Gyre or guarantee a transfer duration.
