A typical rented V Rising server costs about $5 to $20 per month. Small eight-player plans are around $5–$6, 16-player plans about $12, and 32-player plans about $20. A 60-slot euro plan listed by one provider starts at €6.90 monthly. You can avoid a recurring hosting bill by running the dedicated server on your own computer, but you will need suitable CPU capacity, at least 4–8 GB of memory (8 GB is the safer planning figure), fast storage and a correctly configured network.
Godlike.Host offers hosted V Rising servers with its own game panel, SFTP access and free DDoS protection, if you would rather not host it yourself.
What you are paying for
V Rising hosting is usually sold as a managed game-server subscription. The provider supplies an always-on machine, installs or exposes the server files, handles the operating system and network, and gives you a control panel for settings, updates, backups or restarts. You pay monthly (or prepay several months) rather than buying a separate server.

There is no single universal price because plans are built around player capacity and available resources. A server for a small group can cost less than a larger community server, while storage, mod support and premium support can add to the base charge. The prices below are provider listings observed on 14 October 2026; they are not an independent industry survey and can change before you order.
Current managed-hosting prices
| Provider listing | Advertised capacity or tier | Monthly price | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supercraft | Up to 8 players | $5.99 | Vendor price; page does not state a year |
| Supercraft | Up to 16 players | $11.99 | Vendor price; page does not state a year |
| Supercraft | Up to 32 players | $19.99 | Vendor price; page does not state a year |
| GameHostBros | Entry plan | From $11.99 | Starting price; exact capacity is not stated in the listing |
| GameHostBros | Premium modding plan | $19.99 | Plan is described as premium modding tier |
| DatHost | 60 player slots | From €6.90 | Euro pricing; unlimited usage is advertised |
These figures put ordinary managed hosting in a practical range of roughly $5–$20 per month for the player counts most groups consider. Third-party comparison and review pages have mentioned $2 and $2.50 entry prices, but those amounts could not be tied to a provider’s own pricing page, so treat them as unverified rather than as a dependable budget.

What the headline price may not include
- Storage: at least one host, PowerupStack, bills storage separately from the base plan. Confirm the disk allocation and the price for extra space.
- Mods or premium administration: a basic plan may not include the same modding tools, automated backups or support response as a premium tier.
- Taxes and currency conversion: a US-dollar price and a euro price are not directly comparable until your payment provider’s exchange rate and taxes are applied.
- Long-term commitment: the displayed monthly figure may assume a one-month term, while a lower effective rate may be available only when you prepay.
How player slots and resources change the bill
Player slots are the clearest pricing lever. Supercraft says its plans scale by player capacity rather than by a simple RAM number. Moving from an eight-player tier to 16 or 32 slots therefore raises the monthly charge even if your group rarely fills every slot.
CPU load
CPU capacity matters most during combat-heavy events and other periods with many simultaneous calculations. A plan that handles a quiet private world may struggle when a full group fights, travels and builds at once. Ask which CPU allocation is guaranteed rather than relying only on a provider’s advertised slot count.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsMemory and mods
RAM is used by the game world, large castles, active players and server-side modifications. More slots and heavier mod collections increase the chance that a low-memory plan will restart or become unstable. A plan’s advertised player limit is not proof that it has enough memory for every mod combination.
Storage and save activity
V Rising saves world state frequently. Storage capacity determines how many saves, backups and logs you can retain, while storage I/O affects how quickly those writes complete. Fast NVMe storage is preferable when a provider offers a choice. Check whether backup retention consumes your quota and whether storage is included at all.

Prepayment discounts
Supercraft lists discounts for three-, six- and 12-month prepayment terms. Compare the total amount charged today with the one-month rate, and check cancellation and refund rules before locking in a long term. A discount is useful only if you expect to keep the world at that host for the full period.
Trials and refunds
DatHost advertises a 14-day money-back guarantee. That is a refund policy, not the same thing as a free trial: verify eligibility, cancellation steps and whether setup fees or add-ons are excluded. A two-day free trial has been mentioned by an unidentified provider, but it is not an attributable offer you should assume is available.

Managed hosting versus running the server yourself
Self-hosting removes the monthly provider bill. You run the dedicated server software on a computer you control, keep that machine powered on, maintain updates and backups, and expose the game to the internet. The financial trade-off is between recurring hosting charges and your existing hardware, electricity, bandwidth and maintenance time.
Hardware figures published by hosting guides
| Source | Minimum guidance | Recommended guidance | Scope or note |
|---|---|---|---|
| DoomHosting | 4-core CPU at 3.0 GHz; 4 GB RAM; 10 GB SSD; 50 Mbps uplink | For up to 40 players: 6–8 cores at 3.5 GHz; 8–16 GB RAM; 20 GB NVMe; 1 Gbps | Player count is attached to the recommendation |
| DatHost requirements guide | Quad-core CPU at 2.8 GHz; 8 GB RAM; 10 Mbps; 50 GB SSD | 6 cores; 16 GB RAM; 20 Mbps; 100 GB SSD | Higher memory and disk figures than some other guides |
| Berrybyte | 2 CPU cores; 6 GB RAM; 20 GB storage | Not stated | Minimum figures only |
| VRisingGuides | For 1–4 players: 2 cores and 4 GB RAM | For 31–50 players: at least 6 cores and 16 GB RAM | Scales requirements by player count |
The published minimums disagree: one source lists 4 GB RAM, another 6 GB, and another 8 GB. For planning a new machine, use the highest credible figure rather than designing to the smallest number. 8 GB RAM is a sensible floor for a small self-hosted server, with 16 GB giving substantially more headroom for larger groups, extensive saves or mods. One guide also notes that single-core speed can matter more than a high core count, so a modern fast CPU may outperform an older processor with more but slower cores.

The older client-side GPU requirements sometimes quoted for V Rising, such as a GTX 750 Ti, do not describe a headless dedicated server. A server-only machine generally does not need a gaming graphics card; spend the budget on CPU speed, memory and reliable SSD or NVMe storage instead.
When self-hosting is financially sensible
- You already own a computer that meets the conservative CPU, memory and storage targets.
- You can leave it running whenever friends need to connect.
- Your internet connection has adequate upload capacity and a stable public address or workable port-forwarding arrangement.
- You are comfortable applying updates, making backups and diagnosing crashes without a host’s support team.
If buying a new machine, add electricity, a replacement allowance, operating-system administration and the value of your time to the comparison. A $5–$20 monthly host can be cheaper overall than purchasing hardware solely for one game, particularly for a short-lived server.

Port requirements need particular care because published guidance conflicts. DoomHosting lists game port 9876 UDP and Steam query port 9877 UDP. ZAP-Hosting says both ports should be open for TCP and UDP. Because those instructions do not agree, confirm the required protocols in the current official documentation or the server package’s own configuration notes before changing a firewall.
Basic self-hosting checklist
- Reserve a local IP address for the server computer in your router so port-forwarding rules do not change after a reboot.
- Allow the server executable through the computer’s firewall.
- Forward the documented game and query ports from the router to the server’s local IP, using the protocol requirements confirmed for your version.
- Restart the server and test from outside your home network. Testing only from the same Wi-Fi can produce a false success.
- If friends cannot see the server, check the router’s double-NAT or carrier-grade NAT status, the host firewall, the listening ports and whether the query port is enabled.
Do not expose additional administration ports just to make discovery work. Keep management access restricted and use strong credentials for any control panel or remote connection.

How to choose the right paid tier
- Count simultaneous players, not total community members. Select a slot tier that covers your busiest planned session and leave some headroom for guests.
- Ask for resource details. Confirm CPU allocation or priority, RAM, storage type, backup space and whether the advertised capacity assumes an unmodded server.
- Read the storage line. Determine whether world files, automated backups and additional save retention are included or billed separately.
- Check administration features. Look for restart controls, version changes, configuration-file access, scheduled backups and mod installation support if you need them.
- Compare the real billing term. Include taxes, currency conversion, renewal price and any discount that requires three, six or 12 months of prepayment.
- Verify exit terms. Record the refund window, cancellation process and what happens to your world files after cancellation.
For a private group of fewer than eight regular players, a roughly $5–$6 tier is the natural starting point if its CPU and memory allocation are adequate. A 16-player plan around $12 suits a busier group, while a 32-player plan around $20 is the relevant comparison for a larger community. Those are capacity-based examples, not guarantees of performance; resource allocations and mod support can justify choosing a more expensive tier.
Common cost and performance mistakes
Choosing by slots alone
A large slot number does not reveal CPU priority, RAM, storage speed or backup policy. Two plans with the same advertised capacity can behave differently during combat or frequent saves. Request the missing specifications before paying.

Promotional or introductory prices may renew at a different rate. Save a copy of the checkout total and renewal terms, and calculate the cost for the period you actually expect to play.
Ignoring backups
A cheap base plan can become expensive if you must add storage for multiple world snapshots. Confirm how many backups are retained, where they are stored and whether you can download them before cancelling.
Best Value
Using the minimum hardware for a growing server
A machine that works for four players may not remain stable at 20 or 40. Plan for the largest group you expect, not the smallest test session. Memory is especially difficult to recover from once the server is swapping or restarting.
Assuming client graphics requirements apply
A headless server does not render the game for players. Buying a gaming GPU for the server is usually the wrong allocation of money unless the machine also serves another purpose.
Bottom line on V Rising server cost
For most groups, budget $5–$20 per month for managed V Rising hosting, with the exact amount driven primarily by simultaneous player slots, CPU and RAM headroom, mod support and whether storage or backups are extra. Vendor examples include $5.99 for eight players, $11.99 for 16, $19.99 for 32, and €6.90 for a 60-slot plan. Self-hosting can eliminate the subscription, but plan around the more demanding published requirement—roughly an 8 GB RAM starting point, a modern multi-core CPU, SSD or NVMe storage and reliable network connectivity—rather than the lowest minimum you find.
