A continuous 24/7 stream runs for 720 hours in a 30-day month. Using historical illustrative figures hosted by India’s Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), that works out to about 180 GB for non-HD video or 1.44 TB for HD video. These are rough examples, not a measured rate for every yoga or meditation stream; actual use depends on playback quality and the stream’s delivered bitrate.
Estimate a month of continuous streaming
Multiply the stream’s hourly data use by the number of hours it runs. A 30-day month has 24 × 30 = 720 hours:

These hourly examples come from a 2017 consultation response hosted by TRAI. Treat them as scenario inputs, not a current official standard or a guarantee that a particular yoga stream uses either rate. The calculation assumes uninterrupted playback and a constant hourly rate throughout the month. Read the TRAI-hosted consultation response.
Adjust for the calendar month
For another month length, multiply the hourly rate by its total hours: 744 hours for 31 days, or 672 hours for 28 days. For example, at an assumed 2 GB per hour, a 31-day month would be 1,488 GB; that is a calculation from the assumption, not a measured HD-stream rate.

Why your actual total may differ
Playback quality changes data use
Higher-quality playback generally requires more data than lower-quality playback, but resolution alone does not establish an exact usage rate. YouTube’s recommended sustained playback speeds are 0.7 Mbps for 360p, 1.1 Mbps for 480p, 2.5 Mbps for 720p, 5 Mbps for 1080p, and 20 Mbps for 4K UHD. These are connection-speed recommendations—not measurements of a video’s encoded bitrate or direct monthly data-use figures. See YouTube’s playback-speed guidance.
YouTube may adapt quality
YouTube says it selects playback quality partly according to connection speed, screen size, source quality, and browser, and viewers can also choose a quality manually. A stream may therefore play at different qualities under different conditions. This guidance describes YouTube playback; it does not establish a universal consumption rate for yoga streams or other services. See YouTube’s explanation of playback quality.

Other activity can affect the broadband total
The figures above estimate one stream only. Other household devices and online activity also use the plan’s data allowance. To get a stream-specific estimate, use the hourly consumption rate for the actual stream if your provider or playback setup supplies one, then multiply by the hours it runs.

Check your Indian broadband plan’s FUP
Compare the estimated stream use with your plan’s monthly data allowance or fair-usage policy (FUP), and check what happens after the threshold is reached. TRAI says broadband providers must specify the fair-usage limit for an unlimited plan and the speed supplied after it is exhausted. Its FAQ explains that speed is reduced after the plan’s data-consumption limit; broadband packages may also have varying download limits, and extra data beyond an allowance may attract charges. The threshold, post-limit speed, charges, and plan availability depend on the provider and plan, so check the current terms for your connection. Read TRAI’s broadband FAQ.

What to compare between plans
- The monthly data allowance or FUP threshold.
- The speed supplied after the threshold—or any additional-data charges.
- The advertised or typical speed, as well as the post-threshold speed.
- The current price and billing period.
- Whether the plan is available at your address.
The 180 GB and 1.44 TB examples alone cannot determine which plan is suitable: the stream’s actual use, other household consumption, and your provider’s terms all matter.
