There is no fixed monthly total: a 24/7 YouTube stream uses data according to the playback bitrate actually delivered to the viewer. As a conversion, a steady 1 Mbps uses about 10.8 decimal GB in 24 hours, or 324 decimal GB over 30 days. That is an arithmetic example, not a measured rate for a meditation stream.
Estimate data use from the actual playback rate
Use the average bitrate of the video as it plays on the device connected to Airtel broadband—not the live stream’s upload setting. For a measured average bitrate, the estimates are:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Decimal GB per day: bitrate in Mbps × 10.8.
- Decimal GB per 30-day month: bitrate in Mbps × 324.
For example, if playback statistics show an average of 1 Mbps over a representative period, continuous viewing would work out to about 10.8 decimal GB per day and 324 decimal GB over 30 days. The calculation uses decimal gigabytes; a network meter may show a different figure because of protocol overhead, buffering, interruptions, other household traffic, or its unit convention.

YouTube changes video quality based on viewing conditions, and viewers can also select quality manually. The same livestream can therefore use different amounts for different viewers or sessions. YouTube’s published figures below are recommended sustained connection speeds, not viewer bitrates or direct data-use measurements.

| Playback resolution | YouTube-recommended sustained connection speed |
|---|---|
| 360p | 0.7 Mbps |
| 480p | 1.1 Mbps |
| 720p | 2.5 Mbps |
| 1080p | 5 Mbps |
| 4K | 20 Mbps |
These figures are from YouTube’s system requirements and supported devices guidance. They describe connection capacity recommendations; multiplying them by viewing time would not produce an exact data-use estimate.
Measure the stream you actually watch
- Set the intended playback quality. In the YouTube player, open Settings and select Quality, then choose the quality you expect to use. YouTube may adjust quality according to viewing conditions; see YouTube’s instructions for changing video quality on a computer.
- Check playback statistics. While the stream plays, open the player’s statistics for nerds and note the connection and stream information. Use a representative interval rather than a brief moment, since delivered rates can change.
- Calculate a rough total. Apply the daily or 30-day formula above to the measured average playback bitrate.
- Cross-check with usage measurement. If available, compare a broadband account usage meter or router traffic counter over a representative period with the stream running. Account for other devices and household use, which contribute to the total.
The live encoder’s ingest bitrate is not the viewer’s data-use rate. YouTube transcodes live streams into multiple outputs for viewers, so an upload setting from the broadcaster does not establish how much a particular viewer downloads. See YouTube’s live encoder settings guidance.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
Will continuous viewing reach an Airtel data limit?
Airtel’s Xstream Fiber plans page advertises unlimited data, but applicable fair-use terms depend on the specific offer and account. Airtel’s terms include a 3,333 GB billing-cycle threshold for a referenced plan and a separate 1 TB monthly fair-use condition in an AirFiber offer context. Neither figure should be assumed to apply to every broadband subscriber.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesCompare your measured monthly use with the allowance or fair-use policy attached to your own current Airtel plan, and include all other household traffic. Airtel explains fair-use policies in its guide to FUP; check your account terms for the condition that applies to your service.

- Next-Gen Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Speeds: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz bands ensure smoother streaming and faster downloads; support VPN server and VPN client¹
- A More Responsive Experience: Enjoy smooth gaming, video streaming, and live feeds simultaneously. OFDMA makes your Wi-Fi stronger by allowing multiple clients to share one band at the same time, cutting latency and jitter.²
- Expanded Wi-Fi Coverage: 4 high-gain external antennas and Beamforming technology combine to extend strong, reliable, Wi-Fi throughout your home.
- Improved Battery Life: Target Wake Time helps your devices to communicate efficiently while consuming less power.
- Improved Cooling Design: No heat ups, no throttles. A larger heat sink and redefined case design cools the WiFi 6 system and enables your network to stay at top speeds in more versatile environments.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you are the channel owner trying to keep a meditation video live 24/7, StreamNeo keeps an uploaded video or playlist looping on YouTube from the cloud. The setup is: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not need to stay on; the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. Each slot has one flat price for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encoding or quality tiers. The first day is free with no card, and monthly billing is available at $9.99 per month.
