There is no published general estimate for how many years a Furbo camera will work. Furbo’s one-year standard warranty and its conditional “lifetime” hardware coverage describe possible warranty protection, not a predicted device lifespan. A separate support cutoff applies only to original Furbo Dog Cameras purchased before August 2017.
What Furbo’s warranty and support information actually tells you
Three different questions often get blurred together:

- Lifespan: how long an individual camera keeps working. Furbo does not state a typical duration in years in the manufacturer materials reviewed here.
- Warranty: whether Furbo may repair or replace a device when an eligible problem occurs during a covered period or plan condition.
- Support status: whether a particular model remains supported. This depends on the model and, in the case of Furbo’s end-of-life notice, the purchase date.
That means a one-year warranty is not a claim that a camera lasts only one year. Likewise, “lifetime” coverage is not a promise that every Furbo camera will work forever.

Furbo says its standard camera warranty lasts one year from the shipping date. Its warranty information lists exclusions that include accidental damage, misuse, abuse, disassembly, unauthorized modification or neglect, liquid contact, failure to follow manual instructions, and repairs by someone not authorized by Furbo. Coverage depends on the specific purchase and applicable terms, so check your own eligibility rather than assuming a device is covered.

When checking warranty status, have your order ID and camera serial number available. Furbo’s warranty information describes potential remedies for valid claims; a replacement may be refurbished, reconditioned, new, or functionally equivalent, so it is not necessarily a brand-new unit.
When does Furbo’s “lifetime” hardware warranty apply?
Furbo ties lifetime hardware coverage to specified yearly or two-year Furbo Nanny subscriptions, including eligible Subscribe and Save and standalone camera plans. The coverage applies while the qualifying subscription is active; it is not automatically included with every camera purchase.

For a valid claim under the lifetime warranty, Furbo says it may repair the camera at no charge using new or refurbished parts, or replace it with a refurbished, reconditioned, new, or functionally equivalent product. The warranty document states: “This Lifetime Warranty only covers Furbo Camera manufactured by Tomofun, for as long as you are subscribed to these Furbo Nanny services:”

Is an older Furbo still supported?
Furbo announced that original Furbo Dog Cameras purchased before August 2017 reached end of life on September 4, 2024. That notice concerns that specific older group of cameras; it does not establish an end-of-life date or typical lifespan for later models.
If your camera is older or has stopped working, identify its exact model and purchase date before deciding what to do. Furbo’s current US comparison page lists distinct models, including the Furbo 360° Dog Camera, but the existence of a newer model does not establish compatibility with, or equivalence to, every earlier camera.

What to check before seeking service or replacing a camera
- Identify the device. Find the exact model, serial number, and purchase or shipping date. Model and date help determine which warranty or support information applies.
- Check the coverage route. Compare the one-year standard warranty with any eligible yearly or two-year Furbo Nanny plan you currently have, including whether the subscription is active.
- Ask what remedy is available. A valid claim may lead to repair or a replacement, and a replacement can be refurbished, reconditioned, new, or functionally equivalent rather than necessarily brand-new.
- Confirm support status. Apply the September 4, 2024 cutoff only if the camera is an original Furbo Dog Camera purchased before August 2017.
- Verify replacement details before buying. Furbo’s US product comparison describes the 360° Dog Camera with a 2-meter USB-C cable and a one-year warranty; model features include treat tossing, night vision, and two-way audio. Video history and some smart features depend on a subscription. Confirm the current listing, cable, included accessories, and any subscription requirements for the exact model and region.
Furbo’s materials mention free replacement of certain camera lids or cables for listed models, but that does not establish that replacement parts are available for every generation. Check the applicable model information before counting on a particular part.
Will cleaning or repairing a Furbo make it last longer?
The manufacturer information reviewed here does not establish that a particular cleaning routine, placement, power accessory, or repair method extends a Furbo camera’s service life. Follow the manual for your model and check the warranty terms before opening the device or attempting a repair; disassembly, unauthorized modification, and unauthorized repair are among the listed exclusions.
