What the LEGO PlayStation set includes
The LEGO Group’s adult-oriented set 72306 is designed for ages 18 and up and contains 1,911 pieces. Its assembled dimensions are over 6 cm high, 26 cm wide and 19 cm deep. LEGO describes the model as near 1:1 scale. LEGO’s US product listing identifies the set and its features.

The build recreates the original PlayStation console and its first controller. The controller is a brick-built display piece that plugs into the front of the model; LEGO’s product information does not describe it as electronic or playable.
How the model evokes the original PlayStation
Shape, proportions and front panel
The replica’s visual cues are the console’s grey silhouette, rounded corners and near-original proportions. LEGO says its design team worked with PlayStation and referred to original schematics. The front ports and controller arrangement further echo the original hardware.

Controller and tactile buttons
The included controller connects to the front of the brick-built console, reproducing the familiar wired arrangement as a display detail. LEGO says designers developed new elements for the controller buttons and for the console’s Open and Power buttons to capture their appearance and tactile feel. Those console buttons function as features of the model; they do not operate real gaming hardware.

What is hidden inside the console?
Opening the lid reveals two buildable mini dioramas inspired by games named in LEGO’s product information:
- Gran Turismo: a miniature track with tiny cars. LEGO dates the game to 1997.
- Ape Escape: a scene featuring the game’s red or blue monkey helmet. LEGO dates the game to 1999.
These are concealed display scenes, not playable versions of either game. The opening lid lets the model shift from a closed-console silhouette to a display of the small scenes inside.

In its September 3, 2026 announcement, LEGO stated regional suggested retail prices of £139.99 in the UK, €159.99 in Europe and $179.99 in the US. These are announced RRPs, not guarantees of current retailer pricing or stock. LEGO announced Insiders early access beginning October 1, 2026, followed by general purchase from October 4, 2026.
