Most clip-on Kindle page turners do not connect to the e-reader over Bluetooth. A sensor clipped to the screen physically triggers a touch when you press its separate RF remote. Compatibility depends on the exact Kindle model and whether the sensor can sit unobstructed on the display. There are also model-specific alternatives: double-tap page advance on two 2024 Signature Edition Kindles, physical buttons on Kindle Oasis models, and a newly reported Bluetooth remote called Kindle Click whose support should be confirmed with Amazon.
How a clip-on Kindle page turner works
A common clip-on page turner has two parts: a small sensor attached to the Kindle screen and a separate handheld RF remote. Pressing the remote activates the sensor, which makes contact with the touchscreen to advance or go back. The remote communicates with the sensor, not with the Kindle over Bluetooth; pairing those two accessory parts is separate from pairing Bluetooth devices to an e-reader. One accessory manual describes positioning the sensor on the left or right side to choose the page-turn direction, but controls and setup vary by product. Follow the chosen unit’s manual. Because the sensor must touch the display, placement matters. A bezel, case edge, or poorly positioned clip can get in the way. Check that the accessory fits your Kindle’s screen and case, and confirm whether it supports the direction and controls you want.

There is no universal compatibility list for clip-on turners. One examined accessory manual warns that some models are unsupported, including Kindle 7 and Kindle 8; that warning applies to that product, not every page turner. Sellers may also use generation names inconsistently. Identify your exact device and compare it with the manufacturer’s supported-model list before buying.

Amazon’s device identification guide can help distinguish Kindle models.
Does Kindle Bluetooth support page-turner remotes?
Bluetooth support on a Kindle does not automatically mean that it can accept a page-turning remote. Amazon’s Bluetooth help page describes Bluetooth use for VoiceView commands and audiobook playback, and says Bluetooth keyboards and mice are unsupported. It also says Bluetooth connectivity is supported on Kindle devices released during or after 2016. That general support information is not confirmation that an arbitrary Bluetooth page-turner will work.

Kindle Click: reported support, not a universal guarantee
Reporting published October 1, 2026 describes Kindle Click as a Bluetooth page-turning remote and reports compatibility with Kindle e-readers released from 2024 onward. Amazon’s general Bluetooth help page does not document Kindle Click or confirm that range, so check Amazon’s product page or model-specific support information before relying on it. Double-tap on two 2024 Signature Edition Kindles
Amazon documents accelerometer-based double-tap page advancement for the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (12th Generation) and Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition, both released in 2024. While reading, double-tap the side or back of the device. Find the setting under All Settings > Device Options. Amazon says its official cases have been tested, but some third-party cases may block the feature. This support does not extend to every Paperwhite or Colorsoft model. Physical buttons on Kindle Oasis
Kindle Oasis models have physical page-turn buttons, including the 8th-generation model (2016), 9th-generation model (2017), and 10th-generation model (2019). If you own one of these devices, its built-in buttons provide ordinary page turning without an external remote. Confirm the generation in Amazon’s device identification guide.
Fire tablets and Kindle apps are different
Amazon says compatible Bluetooth switches can navigate Fire tablets and turn pages in Kindle books. Its accessibility overview also says volume controls can turn pages in the Kindle Android app. Those are tablet and app options, not evidence that a Bluetooth switch or remote works with a Kindle e-reader.
