I built ASFORGE FITNESS as a fitness-platform concept where a cinematic 3D character shares the hero with the usual website controls and content. The site combines a React interface with a Three.js scene rendered through React Three Fiber, plus a GLB character, animation, atmospheric effects, workout and diet sections, membership plans, and an AI coach. Here’s how the pieces fit together—and what the project account does and doesn’t establish about performance.
How the site is structured
The key decision was to treat the 3D scene as part of the React page, not as a separate experience. The project uses React for the ordinary interface and React Three Fiber (R3F), a React renderer for Three.js, for the scene. R3F lets you describe Three.js objects as JSX and organize them into components alongside the rest of the app. Its Canvas sets up the scene and camera, manages rendering, and sizes itself to its parent element. See the React Three Fiber introduction and first-scene guide.

The reported stack is React, Vite, JavaScript, Three.js, React Three Fiber, Drei, React Three Postprocessing, GLB models, and Gemini AI. That stack supports both sides of the project: a conventional fitness-site UI and a visual centerpiece that can be composed as React components.

What belongs in React and what belongs in the scene
Keep navigation, copy, buttons, workout and diet information, membership choices, and coach interactions in the normal interface. Put the character, lighting, particles, rings, and other spatial effects in the R3F scene. This division makes the site content and controls easier to manage without giving up the 3D hero.

R3F is most useful if you already understand basic React and Three.js concepts such as scenes, cameras, meshes, geometry, and materials. The official documentation also points to Drei helpers, gltfjsx for expressing GLTF assets as JSX, and postprocessing effects as ecosystem options: React Three Fiber documentation.
Loading the character from a GLB file
The project author reports loading a character from /models/character.glb with Drei’s useGLTF, then rendering the loaded scene as a Three.js primitive. A simplified version of that pattern looks like this:
function Character() {
const { scene } = useGLTF('/models/character.glb')
return <primitive object={scene} />
}
This example illustrates the reported loading approach; it is not a complete app or a tested drop-in component. The author’s practical challenge was framing the figure: the model could appear too large, too small, or partly outside the hero. Scale and position need to be tuned against the camera and the space reserved for the page’s text and controls.

Loading a GLB scene directly is one asset workflow. The R3F documentation also lists gltfjsx, which can turn a GLTF asset into JSX components. The project account describes using useGLTF; it does not say that gltfjsx was used.

Adding animation and atmosphere
The character’s built-in animation was played in the site, while stars, particles, glowing rings, lighting, and background effects added atmosphere. Treat the model’s authored animation and custom scene motion as separate jobs: an animation embedded in the asset supplies its own movement, while custom movement can be applied to scene objects during rendering.
For continuous custom changes, R3F’s animation guide uses useFrame, which runs code during the render loop. It demonstrates updating a referenced Three.js object rather than calling React state setters repeatedly for every frame. That distinction helps keep frame-by-frame visual updates out of React’s ordinary state cycle. See the R3F animation guide.
Postprocessing and glow can strengthen the cinematic look, but the available project account gives no measurements of their rendering cost. Use effects selectively and judge them on the devices you intend to support rather than assuming a particular performance result.
Composing the 3D hero with the interface
A character can be technically correct in the scene and still make the page harder to use. The author identifies hero text, buttons, navigation, screen size, model scale, and camera position as things to consider together. Treat the hero as one composition: reserve readable space for copy and controls, frame the figure around that space, and check that the model does not obscure the interface.

Plan for WebGL failure
The main visual depends on GPU-backed WebGL rendering, which can fail—for example, when GPU support is disabled or a driver is faulty. R3F’s Canvas API documents renderer error handling and shows using an error boundary around a Canvas: R3F Canvas API.
A practical design response is to make the page useful even if the canvas cannot render: retain the headline, navigation, calls to action, and core fitness information in HTML, and provide a clear fallback visual or message. That is a resilience recommendation, not a feature the project account says ASFORGE FITNESS implemented.
What this walkthrough establishes—and what it doesn’t
The project account describes the intended feature set and implementation choices, but it reports no benchmark, device test matrix, conversion result, or accessibility audit. It therefore supports a walkthrough of how the experience was assembled, not a claim that it performs well on every device or improves business outcomes. Before making those claims for a real launch, test the site on representative mobile and desktop devices and verify that core tasks remain usable with the 3D scene unavailable.
