Announced October 6, 2026, the service is designed to report role-based scores, pass-or-fail results for individual environments, and performance trends across repeat assessments. HTB also describes assessing the people who direct and check agent work.
What AI Range Enterprise Edition is for
AI Range Enterprise Edition is an enterprise evaluation offering for organizations that want to assess whether an AI agent can carry out the cybersecurity work assigned to it. HTB calls its approach “Agentic Worker Competence” and says it appraises agents under realistic conditions in controlled cyber environments. The assessment is role-based: the question is not simply whether an agent performs well on a generic benchmark, but how it handles work associated with a defined security role.

The Enterprise Edition builds on HTB’s AI Range, introduced in December 2025 as a controlled cyber range for testing and benchmarking the safety, limits, and capabilities of AI security agents. That earlier launch described evaluating both agents and human operators in cyber environments. HTB’s October 6, 2026 announcement describes the enterprise offering and its intended appraisal process; the December 3, 2025 launch announcement provides the background on AI Range.
What an assessment reports
HTB says the Enterprise Edition produces three kinds of information:
#1 Best Overall
- Role-based scores: an appraisal of the agent’s performance against the cybersecurity role it has been assigned.
- Environment-level pass or fail: an outcome for each environment in which the agent is evaluated.
- Performance over time: a way to view whether the agent’s results change across assessments.
Those outputs are intended to help a team see both whether an agent met an assessment’s requirements and how its capability changes. HTB’s announcement does not publish customer results, accuracy figures, or evidence of measured improvement in operational security, so the described scores and outcomes should be understood as product outputs—not independent proof that an agent is safe or effective in production.
Why HTB says assessments should be repeated
HTB describes appraisal as ongoing rather than a one-time certification. It says an organization can repeat an assessment when relevant parts of the system or its operating context change, including the model, software, datasets, operating conditions, vulnerabilities, or attack patterns. Its current AI workforce page also names changing models, harnesses, environments, and threats as reasons to reassess.

For a security team, the practical value of repeat testing would be tracking whether a specific agent continues to meet the expectations for its assigned role as those conditions shift. HTB presents trend tracking as part of the service; the published materials do not specify an assessment schedule or define a universal threshold that would apply to every organization or agent.

Which cybersecurity roles are named
HTB says its initial AI-augmented roles include penetration tester and SOC analyst, with additional roles planned. The announcement’s SOC analyst example includes reviewing alerts, investigating suspicious activity, and evaluating recommended actions. These are examples of role-based work in HTB’s description, not a complete catalog of supported roles.
HTB also connects agent evaluation to developing the people who work with agents. It calls this “Agentic Operator Competence Scoring”: assessing whether practitioners notice errors in an agent’s reasoning, understand the basis for its recommendations, and know when to intervene. The company’s stated aim is to evaluate operator judgment alongside agent capability, rather than treating the agent as an independent substitute for human review.
HTB founder and CEO Haris Pylarinos said: “They need to know that agents can do the jobs they are being given, but they also need people with the expertise and judgment to direct that work, verify it and step in when needed.” Chief Product Officer Gerasimos Marketos summarized the intended workflow as: “Connect the agent, assign it a role and let it work.” Both statements are from HTB’s announcement and describe the company’s framing of the offering.

What the announcement does not establish
The official material describes the product’s purpose and appraisal outputs, but does not state current pricing, deployment requirements, supported agent interfaces, data-handling terms, a detailed list of evaluation environments, or the full catalog of supported roles. Organizations considering procurement would need to confirm those details with HTB and determine whether the assessment conditions match their own systems and policies.

How to interpret the offering
AI Range Enterprise Edition is best understood as HTB’s proposed way to test an organization’s agent against role-defined security work, examine its performance across environments, and revisit the appraisal as the agent or its context changes. Its human-operator component reflects a second question: can the people supervising the agent understand, verify, and challenge what it does? The announcement explains this approach, but does not provide independent validation of outcomes or enough technical and commercial detail to judge deployment fit without further vendor information.
