Google has announced a Gemini feature that lets you save where you put an item in Find Hub—even if the item has no tracker. Tell Gemini its location, such as a bedroom drawer, and later ask where you left it or check Find Hub’s remembered items tab. It records what you tell it; it does not track the item as it moves.
How does Google’s remembered-items feature work?
In its September 1, 2026 Android Drop announcement, Google described a way to save a user-reported location in Find Hub through Gemini. Its example is: “Hey Google, remember in Find Hub that I put my passport in my bedroom drawer.” You can also add a photo for context.

To find the saved note later, ask Gemini where you put the item or open the remembered items tab in Find Hub. The entry is a reminder of the location you supplied—not a live location report from the item.

Google’s announcement specifies Android 16 or later in countries where both Gemini and Find Hub are supported. It does not provide a complete country list or confirm availability for every eligible device or account. The post described the feature as coming “Soon,” so the announcement alone does not establish whether it has reached your account.

- Check whether Gemini and Find Hub are supported where you live.
- Look for the remembered items tab in Find Hub, or try asking Gemini to locate a saved item if the feature appears available.
Google’s general Android device-finding help covers device setup and offline finding. Those instructions are background for finding Android devices; Google’s announcement does not say that completing them is a prerequisite for saving remembered-item notes. Menus and support can vary by device and Android version.
How is this different from a Bluetooth tracker?
A remembered item depends on you recording its location. A compatible tracker and Find Hub’s network are a separate approach: they can help locate a tagged belonging using location reports. Google describes the broader tracker ecosystem in its post about finding belongings with Find Hub.

Google has not published a performance comparison showing that one approach is more reliable than another. The practical difference is whether you need a saved reminder of a place you named or a tracker-based way to seek location reports.
What does Google say about privacy and saved entries?
Google’s Find Hub privacy help explains encryption and controls for participation in offline finding. That documentation concerns the network’s location reports; it does not establish how remembered-item text or optional photos are processed, stored, or retained. The September announcement does not specify those details, so the network privacy information should not be treated as an answer about remembered entries.
