If a ticket or loyalty card is missing from Google Wallet, start where it was issued: the issuer’s app or website. Its “Save to phone” or “Add to Google Wallet” button begins a pass-specific flow. Accept the requested terms, choose a device if prompted, and tap View in Wallet to finish. The button starts the process; it does not guarantee every pass can be saved.
Why the issuer’s button matters
Google Wallet does not offer the same general add route for every kind of pass. An issuer may provide a Wallet button beside a ticket, pass, or card in its app or on its website. That button connects the particular pass to Wallet, so it can be the right place to begin when the item is not already in the app. Google describes available categories including event tickets, boarding passes, transit passes, loyalty cards, and gift cards; availability depends on the pass and region. Behind the button is an issuer-provided integration. Google’s developer documentation describes signed links that issuers can distribute by email, text message, websites, or apps, as well as an Android SDK/API route. Supported pass types include event tickets, loyalty cards, gift cards, transit tickets, boarding passes, and generic passes. Save a pass from the issuer’s app or website
- Open the app or website where you bought, received, or manage the pass. Look under sections such as Tickets, Passes, or Cards.
- Tap the issuer’s Save to phone or Add to Google Wallet control for the specific pass.
- Review and accept any Google Wallet and issuer terms shown in the flow.
- If asked to choose among devices, select the device where you want the pass.
- Tap View in Wallet to open the saved pass in Google Wallet.
Use the pass-specific flow through to the final Wallet screen; tapping the issuer’s button is only the start.

If the pass does not appear
- Return to the issuer’s account. Check that you are viewing the right ticket or pass and signed into the account associated with it.
- Check the selected device. If the flow asked you to choose a device, confirm you selected the one you are checking. These checks may help identify a mismatch, but they are not guaranteed fixes.
- Follow the issuer’s support route if there is an error. Google says an error while saving may indicate an issue with the pass and directs users to contact the issuer. Google Wallet Help: Manage items in Google Wallet
- Look for pass-specific transfer instructions. Some passes are limited to one device. Moving one may require manually removing or transferring it according to the issuer’s instructions; do not assume it will sync or transfer like a general Wallet item.
Other ways to add eligible items
Automatic saving from Gmail
Eligible items can be saved automatically from Gmail when Gmail’s Smart features and personalization settings and Wallet’s auto-save option are enabled. This applies only to eligible messages and passes, not every confirmation email. Google Wallet Help: Manage items in Google Wallet
Create a pass from a photo
Google Wallet can create some passes from a photo, but this is not a universal substitute for an issuer-supported pass. Check Google’s current instructions for supported pass types and the photo-add flow. Google Wallet Help: Add items to Google Wallet

Convert a downloaded pass
Some downloaded files can be converted into Wallet passes. Google warns that converted passes may have limited functionality and may not receive updates.
