Fortnite Crew is a recurring subscription with several benefits; V-Bucks are currency you spend on eligible items; and Item Shop bundles are direct purchases of specific cosmetics. Choose Crew for its combined benefits, V-Bucks when you want control over what to buy, or a bundle when you want the listed cosmetics without subscribing.

What Fortnite Crew includes
Epic’s current Crew page lists access to the Battle Pass, OG Pass, LEGO Pass, and Music Pass; a monthly Crew Pack; 800 V-Bucks; and Rocket Pass Premium in Rocket League. Epic says monthly content is subject to change.

The pack itself changes over time. For example, the page displayed August 2026’s pack as the Mortuus X Outfit, Soul Box Back Bling, and Spacebound Carvers Pickaxe. That is a dated example, not a promise of what a later month includes.
What V-Bucks do—and what they do not do
V-Bucks are a spendable balance, not a subscription or a particular item. Epic says Crew subscribers receive 800 V-Bucks to put toward eligible Shop purchases such as outfits and emotes. Buying currency gives you discretion over what to spend it on, subject to current item availability and platform rules.

V-Bucks do not themselves unlock premium pass rewards, a monthly Crew Pack, or Rocket Pass Premium. Those are separate benefits. If the goal is a cosmetic already offered as a bundle, compare the bundle’s listed contents and checkout price with the V-Bucks amount required in your Shop; do not assume every bundle is available at all times.

A Shop bundle is a direct purchase of the cosmetics specified in its listing. Unlike Crew, it does not recur as a subscription or provide access to passes. Unlike buying a V-Bucks balance, it directs the purchase to a particular set of items rather than leaving currency for you to spend later.

Pass cosmetics have separate availability rules. Epic says Battle Pass items may become available in the Fortnite Shop at least 18 months after a pass expires, but that is a possible later availability, not a guarantee every item will return. Availability and alternate styles can vary.
Battle Pass access: compare the current options
Epic’s current Battle Pass page lists the Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass at 800 V-Bucks or as part of Fortnite Crew. That displayed season ends November 1, 2026, Eastern Time; both the price and end date are season-specific and should be checked against the live page.

The same page says players can unlock up to 800 V-Bucks in that pass by earning XP. That is a maximum earned through progression in the current pass, not a grant of all Crew benefits. If you are comparing the pass alone with Crew, count only benefits you actually expect to use and remember that Crew renews unless canceled.

Recurring charges, cancellation, and platform limits
Epic’s Fortnite Crew Subscription Terms say the subscription renews automatically until canceled. Cancel before the next billing date to stop the next charge. The subscription is associated with the platform where it was purchased until canceled and is not transferable across platforms.
Epic says items can be accessed across platforms, but V-Bucks may not be redeemable on other platforms. Features and availability can vary by platform and region, and third-party platform subscriptions may have additional terms. Before subscribing, verify the benefits, renewal date, and platform details in the account and checkout flow you will use.
Which option should you choose?
- Choose Crew if the current mix of pass access, Crew cosmetics, V-Bucks, and Rocket League benefit is worth the recurring charge to you, and you will use it while active.
- Choose V-Bucks if you want to make selective eligible purchases without taking on a subscription.
- Choose a Shop bundle if you want the specific cosmetics listed in that offer and do not need Crew’s other benefits.
- Check the Battle Pass separately if pass progression is your main goal: Epic lists the current pass for 800 V-Bucks or through Crew, and its page says the current pass can unlock up to 800 V-Bucks by earning XP.
Why older Fortnite Crew figures may not match
Epic’s November 20, 2024 announcement described 1,000 monthly V-Bucks and a planned Battle Pass price move from 950 to 1,000 V-Bucks. Those figures are historical. The current Crew and Battle Pass pages reviewed here display 800 V-Bucks for the monthly Crew grant and 800 V-Bucks for the current pass.
