Flowtica’s Folio is a notebook cover with a paper-to-app trick: markings printed on its pages let the Flowtica Scribe app recognize a photographed page, transcribe handwriting, extract action points into a to-do list, and store the image and searchable text. You still have to take the photo with your phone’s regular camera and upload it yourself; the app has no in-app photo mode, according to a hands-on review published August 25, 2026.
How the Folio connects paper notes to the Scribe app
The key is not the cover itself but markings printed on the notebook pages. The Scribe app recognizes those markings in an uploaded page image and uses them to process the handwritten notes. In the workflow described by Creative Collaboration’s August 25, 2026 Android Police article, the app transcribes the writing, identifies action points for a to-do list, stores the photograph, and makes the text searchable.

What the Folio includes
The August 2026 article describes the Folio as a cover made from 100% recycled leather, with a soft microfiber interior. It includes a 90-page notebook and a sleeve for the Scribe, alongside card storage, a lower pocket for a credit card or receipts, an elastic closure, and an inner section that can serve as a bookmark. Can you use the Folio with a regular pen?
The review suggests that after the supplied notebook is filled, the Folio could carry a conventional notebook and a regular pen. That is the reviewer’s practical suggestion, not a manufacturer-confirmed compatibility promise. Flowtica was said to be planning replacement inserts, but their price was not confirmed in the article.

How well did handwriting recognition work?
Boxall reported that the app transcribed his test handwriting without errors and generated a short task list. That is one reviewer’s experience with his own handwriting, not a measured accuracy rate or a promise that every user’s writing will be recognized correctly.
