What is the objective in Modern Warfare III Free-for-All?
Free-for-All is a solo elimination contest. Eliminate opponents to score; every player you encounter is competing against you. Activision’s guide says public matches usually have a 30-point limit. Reaching that limit ends the match, while a timer expiration makes the highest score the winner. The top three players win or place, which the guide says contributes to XP gains.

How do you win Free-for-All?
Stay active, but avoid reckless engagements
The official guide recommends moving around and fighting rather than remaining in one place. Keep enough awareness of nearby sightlines and cover to disengage when an encounter turns against you. Respawns are unlimited, but a death can break your momentum and interrupt access to killstreaks. Treat each fight carefully enough to retreat and reposition when needed.

Look for opponents already fighting
When two or more opponents are focused on each other, use the distraction to approach or attack from a useful angle. Avoid charging into the same line of fire without a plan: the goal is to take advantage of divided attention, not to join a fight blindly.
Use information, then verify it
The guide recommends UAV information to help locate opponents, but warns that stealth-focused enemy loadouts may avoid detection. Pair any map information with visual and audio awareness rather than assuming an unseen player is absent.
Learn from the kill cam
After a death, review the kill cam to understand where the attacker was and the angle they used. Use that information to change your route or cover on the next life instead of returning to the same exposed position.
Choose the right response in a close fight
Activision suggests switching to a handgun rather than reloading when an opponent is close and a reload would leave you exposed. This is a situational option, not a universal weapon rule; use it only when the handgun is ready and switching is safer than reloading or disengaging.

Control the next engagement
The guide also suggests using Tactical Insertion to choose a next spawn location. If an encounter is going badly, retreat toward a more favorable sightline; firing before falling back may encourage an opponent to follow. Treat that as a way to shape a particular engagement, not a guarantee that the opponent will pursue.
How does radar work in Free-for-All?
According to the official guide, firing makes an Operator momentarily visible on opponents’ minimaps and Tac Maps. A Suppressor attachment keeps the shooter off the radar while firing, according to the same guide. That creates a basic choice between concealment and other weapon or loadout priorities; the source does not identify a best-in-slot weapon or attachment.

Radar information is incomplete: stealth-focused enemy loadouts may prevent detection. Continue watching and listening for opponents even when they do not appear on the map.
