To take a screenshot on a Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime, open the screen you want to capture, then press and hold the Power and Home keys together. Find the saved image in the Screenshots album in Gallery.

- Open the screen or content you want to capture.
- Press and hold the physical Power and Home keys at the same time. This is the shortcut documented in the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime J727T User Manual.
- Open Gallery and look for the automatically created Screenshots album.
Where to find the screenshot
The J727T manual says screenshots are saved to a Screenshots album in Gallery. If you have a different regional J7 Prime variant, the exact software details may differ; Samsung lists manuals for the broader SM-G610 family on its Galaxy J7 Prime support page.

If the shortcut does not work
Check whether the app allows screenshots
Some apps with enhanced protection can block screenshot capture. If the key combination works elsewhere but not in one app, that app may be restricting captures, according to Samsung’s Galaxy screenshot guidance.

Palm-swipe capture is available on some Samsung devices, but it is not guaranteed on every J7 Prime variant or software version. Samsung’s general guidance notes that methods vary by model and operating system; a 2017 Samsung Members community reply also mentions palm motion for J7 Prime users. Do not assume newer capture tools are available
Scrolling capture, editing controls, and screenshot preview actions described in newer Galaxy guidance depend on the model and operating system. Verify that a feature appears on your J7 Prime before relying on it; the documented device-specific method remains Power + Home. Samsung’s general Galaxy guidance explains that available methods and features vary.
