There is no verified button sequence that applies to every Vizio Smart TV. Do not rely on another model’s remote layout or instructions as if they were universal.
Where should I look for a particular setting?
In the on-screen interface, look for the category that matches what you want to change. Category names and locations can differ by model, so use the manual if the label is not obvious.

Where is the menu button on my Vizio remote?
Remote designs vary. Consult the manual for your TV model to identify the correct button and its function; a button’s name or position on one remote does not establish where it is on another. VIZIO’s support hub includes a “Help with Your Remote” topic if you need assistance identifying or using the remote.

What if I cannot use the remote?
Start with VIZIO’s remote-help support topic. If the original remote is missing, damaged, or unusable, check replacement compatibility against the exact TV model before buying. The D55x-G1 page, for example, identifies XRT136 as that model’s included remote; that does not establish compatibility with other Vizio TVs.
VIZIO also provides phone-app pairing guidance through its support hub. Do not assume app control works with every TV: confirm that your model supports the relevant app and follow the model-specific pairing instructions.
Why does my Vizio settings menu look different?
Vizio TVs do not all use the same remote, platform, or menu layout. The VIZIO Support hub groups help for VIZIO OS (SmartCast), the VIZIO app, user manuals, and remote assistance. Use your model’s documentation to resolve differences in button names, available features, and menu paths rather than applying instructions written for a different set.
