If they do not connect, use the Pairing button on the back of the subwoofer and check its LED. The exact reset steps can differ by model, so identify your soundbar model before trying combinations beyond this standard procedure.
Pair the LG subwoofer automatically
- Connect the wireless subwoofer’s power cable to an outlet. Use the original AC adapter included with the product; LG warns that an adapter with different specifications may cause a malfunction.
- Turn on the soundbar. LG says the subwoofer and soundbar should pair automatically. Check that the subwoofer’s rear LED turns solid green.
LG’s standard connection guide describes automatic pairing for its standard models; settings and procedures may vary by model.

Reconnect it if automatic pairing fails
- Turn the soundbar off.
- Press the Pairing button on the back of the subwoofer. The LED should blink green, indicating pairing mode. If it stays red, press and hold the Pairing button again.
- Turn the soundbar back on and wait for the subwoofer LED to turn solid green.
This is LG USA’s standard manual reconnection sequence. A solid green LED indicates pairing is complete; blinking green means the units are connecting.
What the subwoofer LED means

These indicators help you check connection status, but a red or off light alone does not establish that a device is defective. See LG’s LED status and connection guidance for the standard procedure.

If the subwoofer still will not connect
- Check that both the soundbar and subwoofer have power, then repeat the manual sequence and watch for the LED to blink green before turning the soundbar on.
- Move the units closer together, remove obstacles between them, and move nearby sources of interference—such as Wi-Fi routers or microwaves—away from the soundbar and subwoofer.
- Check the manual for your exact soundbar model or contact LG support if the LED stays red or the standard steps do not work.
LG España’s regional guide recommends keeping the subwoofer within 10 meters of the soundbar and avoiding obstacles, metal surfaces, and radio interference. That distance is guidance from that regional page, not a universal limit for every LG model: Conectar Subwoofer a Barra de Sonido LG.
Check your model before trying a reset
Do not assume every LG soundbar uses the same reset or re-pairing controls. LG España lists different methods for some model families, including button combinations on the remote or soundbar, while LG USA’s standard guide gives the Pairing-button sequence above. Find the model number on your soundbar and subwoofer, then follow that model’s manual before attempting other combinations.

For example, LG’s SP7R connection instructions say its wireless subwoofer is expected to connect automatically when powered and that solid green indicates a successful connection. This is a model-specific example, not proof that every LG soundbar uses identical steps.

Do you need another product?
No separate product is required for the standard reconnection steps. Replacement-subwoofer compatibility depends on the soundbar model and is not established by LG’s general pairing instructions, so confirm your exact model before choosing a replacement. Do not substitute a generic power adapter for the original one.
