Clear Bluetooth memory on many Pioneer touchscreen radios
Before starting, park safely and follow any parking-brake requirement stated in your receiver’s manual. For example, Pioneer’s AVH-X8650BT operation manual instructs users to stop the vehicle safely and apply the parking brake for the covered operation; that condition should not be assumed for every Pioneer model.

- Open the receiver’s top or home menu, then enter its Bluetooth settings. The menu entry point differs between models.
- Select Bluetooth Memory Clear.
- Choose Clear, then confirm with OK.
- Leave the receiver powered on while it clears the memory. Pioneer warns in the AVH-X8650BT operation manual: “Never turn this product off while the Bluetooth memory is being cleared.”
On some models, the Bluetooth source must be off before the clear option becomes available. Check your manual for that model-specific requirement; Pioneer manuals document different menu routes and preconditions.
Delete one phone instead of clearing all Bluetooth memory
If you only need to remove one phone, check for an individual registered-device deletion option first. Pioneer documents a Connection menu that lets users select and delete a registered device. This is narrower than clearing Bluetooth memory, which removes stored Bluetooth setup information. See the relevant Pioneer manual for the supported menu on your receiver.

Some knob-operated models use a different procedure
Not all Pioneer receivers have a touchscreen. For a particular Bluetooth firmware procedure, Pioneer Canada describes holding the center of the volume knob to open settings, selecting Clear memory, then confirming Clear memory YES. These steps apply to the procedure Pioneer documents, not to every knob-based receiver; consult the manual for your model before using them.
What a Bluetooth reset does—and does not do
In Pioneer documentation, clearing Bluetooth memory initializes registered devices and the PIN code. It is not evidence that the operation restores all receiver settings: do not treat it as a factory reset for sound, clock, display, or installation settings unless your model’s manual specifically says it does.

If pairing still fails after the clear
- Remove the old Pioneer pairing from the phone using the phone’s Bluetooth settings and instructions.
- Pair the phone with the receiver again, following both devices’ manuals.
- If the problem remains, recheck the receiver’s model-specific manual for troubleshooting and supported settings. The exact fix cannot be determined without the model and symptoms.
Find the correct steps for your receiver
Find the model number on the receiver or in its documentation, then search Pioneer’s manual and product lookup for that model. Pioneer notes that its model selector may not include every product, so a missing listing does not establish that no manual exists. Exact reset steps cannot be confirmed for an unspecified Pioneer radio.
