Neither Dell nor HP can be called the financial winner in esports partnerships on the public evidence available. Dell’s Alienware has a long-running, team-centered relationship with Team Liquid, renewed through 2031. HP’s OMEN and HyperX have a broader, publisher-centered partnership with Riot Games spanning several esports properties, with event hardware and game-themed products. The deals show different strategies—not a disclosed billion-dollar contest with a measurable winner.
What the Dell–HP comparison can—and cannot—prove
The announcements document partnership duration, scope, products and event activity. They do not disclose comparable deal values, sponsorship returns, revenue, audience conversion or brand-lift results. That means “who is winning” can be answered only in terms of visible strategy and activation, not financial performance or market impact.

Team Liquid: a long-term team relationship
Dell announced on August 18, 2026, that Alienware and Team Liquid had extended their relationship for five years, through 2031. Dell described it as a 15-year relationship and said the work includes performance testing, product development, content, global events, community engagement and training infrastructure—not just hardware placement or logo visibility. Dell’s announcement does not publish a financial value for the extension.

This makes Alienware’s Team Liquid deal notably deep and sustained at the organization level. It does not, by itself, establish how much either party earns or how the partnership performs commercially.
BLAST’s 2025 Austin Major: a specific event sponsorship
Alienware was named the official PC, laptop and monitor sponsor of the BLAST.tv Austin Major in an announcement dated April 24, 2025. BLAST said an Alienware 500Hz monitor would be the tournament monitor used by competing players. This is a concrete example of event equipment placement, but it is tied to that 2025 tournament; the announcement does not establish an ongoing global league agreement. BLAST’s announcement describes the sponsorship and monitor selection.
How HP’s OMEN and HyperX partnership with Riot works
Multiple Riot esports properties
On January 10, 2024, Riot named OMEN and HyperX official technology partners for LoL Esports, the VALORANT Champions Tour and TFT Esports. Riot said the brands would bring hardware and technology expertise to global events for those properties, and that future products for esports would be co-developed. Riot’s April 7, 2026 VCT Americas update described HP as a multiyear partner across Riot’s global esports scene and identified HP as the official PC, laptop and headset partner of esports leagues, with expanded support across VCT Americas and LCS. “Official partner” here refers to the categories and Riot esports context named in that update; it should not be read as a claim that HP is the exclusive hardware provider for all esports. The scope is set out in Riot’s VCT Americas announcement.
Products tied to events and games
HP’s October 14, 2025 announcement gives the partnership a visible product dimension. HP introduced the OMEN 16 League of Legends Limited Edition laptop, developed with Riot, and said the OMEN 25 was the official display for global League of Legends and VALORANT esports events. The release also described the OMEN 35L VALORANT edition as an earlier collaboration. HP’s announcement lists the products and the manufacturer’s specifications.
HP stated that the OMEN 25 offers a 360Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time; these are manufacturer-announced specifications, and HP notes actual specifications can vary. HP’s announced starting prices were $1,999.99 for the OMEN 16 League of Legends Limited Edition laptop and an expected $419.99 for the OMEN 25 monitor. Those were launch figures subject to change, not confirmation of current retail pricing or availability.

The table compares disclosed structure and examples, not effectiveness. A broader publisher relationship may reach more properties; a long team relationship may support deeper organization-level work. What esports hardware announcements mean for buyers
When a tournament or publisher names a product as an official display or event monitor, that establishes a sponsorship or equipment-selection connection for the named context. It is not an independent review, a head-to-head test, or proof that the product is best for an individual player. The cited announcements do not establish current retail stock, current prices or how the products compare under independent testing.
For buyers, evaluate the exact model and current specifications against the games you play, your computer’s capabilities, your budget and independent testing. Treat the partnership as context about esports visibility—not as a buying recommendation.

So, who is really winning?
On relationship longevity and team-level collaboration, Alienware’s Team Liquid partnership is the clearest documented example. On breadth across Riot properties and product integrations tied to those games and events, HP’s OMEN and HyperX partnership has the broader documented footprint in the cited announcements. Alienware also has a separate, dated BLAST event example.
Those are different measures, not an overall victory. The cited public announcements provide no comparable financial or performance figures, so they do not establish which company is winning the esports partnership war in business terms.
