Packs can add guest racers and, depending on the collaboration, machines, courses, and music. The key distinction is that owning the base game does not automatically grant every crossover, and owning the first Season Pass does not mean Season Pass 2 is included.
As of SEGA’s October 10, 2026 announcement, Season Pass 2 is on sale, but its first pack—the Godzilla Pack—was scheduled to release on November 4, 2026. The announced packs should not be confused with content already playable.

What counts as crossover DLC?
Crossovers are paid add-on content built around other games, characters, or entertainment properties. In Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, a pack may add guest racers and themed vehicles, a course, music for the in-game jukebox, or a combination of those. The contents are not uniform: check the specific pack rather than assuming that every collaboration includes the same number of racers or every type of item.

Individual pack announcements provide the more precise contents for their collaboration. For example, the Minecraft Pack announcement identifies its racers, Minecart, MINECRAFT WORLD course, and jukebox music; later examples include distinct rosters and themed tracks.

There are two separate questions to answer when you see a crossover advertised: whether it has been announced, and whether it has actually been released. That distinction matters especially for Season Pass 2, whose full lineup was public before the first scheduled pack launch.
Which purchase option includes which content?
SEGA’s official purchase guide distinguishes the base game, the Digital Deluxe Edition, the Season Pass, and individual collaboration DLC. The edition name matters: “Deluxe” is not a blanket promise of every crossover released now or in the future.
| Purchase | What SEGA’s guide establishes | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | The base game. It does not by itself mean premium crossover packs are included. | Whether a desired pack or pass is also listed in the purchase. |
| Digital Deluxe Edition | The base game plus the first Season Pass, according to the SEGA purchase guide. | Do not infer that it includes Season Pass 2; the official material treats that as a separate new product. |
| Season Pass | A bundle of crossover DLC. SEGA says the pass and collaboration DLC are available for separate purchase. | Which pass is being offered, its included packs, and release timing. |
| Standalone collaboration pack | A specific collaboration DLC can be purchased through the relevant platform store. | That the listing is for the correct platform and region, and that the pack has released. |
The practical takeaway is to read the entitlement attached to the exact product you are buying. The first Digital Deluxe Edition includes the first pass; SEGA’s cited official sources do not say it includes the later pass. SEGA’s June 2026 announcement introduced Season Pass 2 as an upcoming product, and its October announcement said that Season Pass 2 and a Season 2 Digital Deluxe Edition went on sale on October 10, 2026. That announcement does not establish the contents of the Season 2 Digital Deluxe Edition in the English purchase guide, so check its current platform-store listing before buying.

SEGA’s guide does not give one price that applies globally. Prices, product listings, and the availability of digital or physical formats can vary by platform and region, so the relevant local platform store is the practical place to confirm the current offer. The guide lists physical and digital versions for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, and digital-only availability for PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Epic Games. Physical retail availability is specified for selected Southeast Asian territories, not every country. It also lists a physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition with copies scheduled for March 26, 2026. See the official purchase guide for the platform and market detail.
What is in the first Season Pass?
SEGA’s first-pass guide lists six crossover packs: Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, PAC-MAN, Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar Legends. It associates the packs with themed racers, machines, and courses, but the pack-specific lineups differ. Consult the listing for an individual pack to confirm exactly what it adds; the pass’s broad categories should not be read as proof that every pack contains every category.
- Minecraft
- SpongeBob SquarePants
- PAC-MAN
- Mega Man
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Avatar Legends
The first Season Pass bundles crossover content as it releases. That can suit a player who wants the lineup rather than only one collaboration, while a standalone pack allows a buyer to target a particular crossover. The cited official guide confirms that the pass and collaboration DLC can also be purchased separately; it does not provide a universal price comparison, so whether the bundle saves money depends on current local storefront offers and which packs you actually want.

Examples of how pack contents differ
The Minecraft Pack adds Steve, Alex, and Creeper as racers, along with the Minecart machine, MINECRAFT WORLD course, and jukebox music. SEGA’s launch announcement says Digital Deluxe and Season Pass owners receive the collaboration content when it launches; Standard Edition owners can obtain crossover DLC by purchasing the Season Pass. See SEGA’s Minecraft Pack announcement.
The Mega Man Pack includes Mega Man and Proto Man racers, the Rush Roadstar machine, the Wily Castle course, and jukebox tracks. In its March 24, 2026 announcement, SEGA says the game must be updated before accessing the DLC. Digital Deluxe and Season Pass owners can access it in-game after completing the tutorial. Standard or physical-edition owners are directed to purchase the pack from their platform store, download it, and restart the game. The specific instructions are in the Mega Man launch notice.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pack has Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo as racers, plus the Pizzafire Van, New York City course, and jukebox tracks. SEGA’s instructions likewise distinguish pass or Digital Deluxe ownership from buying the DLC in a platform store; for the latter route, the notice says to download the content and restart. Refer to the TMNT pack notice for those steps.

How do you get crossover characters or access a pack you own?
First identify how the content was acquired. A Season Pass or eligible Digital Deluxe entitlement is handled differently in SEGA’s published instructions from a standalone purchase made by a Standard or physical-edition owner. Then follow the pack-specific notice, because the documented steps are for particular releases and should not automatically be assumed for every future DLC.
- Confirm the pack and entitlement. Check whether you bought the first Season Pass, an eligible Digital Deluxe Edition, or the individual collaboration pack. Owning the base game alone is not evidence that a premium pack is included.
- Update the game if the pack’s notice requires it. SEGA explicitly says an update is needed for the Mega Man DLC. Do not assume an update requirement for another pack unless its own instructions say so.
- For pass or Digital Deluxe access, complete the tutorial where instructed. SEGA’s Mega Man and TMNT instructions say these owners access the relevant content in-game after completing the tutorial.
- For a Standard or physical-edition standalone purchase, use the platform store. For the Mega Man and TMNT examples, SEGA directs players to purchase the DLC from the platform store, download it, and restart the game.
- Check the platform and region listing if access still fails. Confirm the store purchase is for the platform you are playing on, and compare the listing with the pack notice. SEGA’s instructions may differ by pack; the platform store is also where local DLC availability is confirmed.
These steps do not establish a universal menu path inside the game, nor do the cited notices promise that every pack follows identical troubleshooting. If an entitlement appears missing, use the specific pack’s official instructions and verify the platform-store download before treating the purchase as a new standalone entitlement.

The official information changed between June and October 2026. SEGA’s English June 6 announcement said Season Pass 2 was planned for fall 2026, named Godzilla and Evangelion, showed the Godzilla Escape and Tokyo-III courses, and said four other crossover packs had not yet been revealed. The later announcement superseded that partial lineup: on October 10, SEGA named all six Season Pass 2 collaborations and said the pass and Season 2 Digital Deluxe Edition were on sale.

| Season Pass 2 crossover | Status in SEGA’s October 10, 2026 announcement |
|---|---|
| Godzilla | Named; Godzilla Pack scheduled for November 4, 2026. |
| Evangelion | Named; remaining packs scheduled to release sequentially from November 4. |
| Virtual Sanrio Puroland | Named; remaining packs scheduled to release sequentially from November 4. |
| Sega Land | Named; remaining packs scheduled to release sequentially from November 4. |
| Final Fantasy VII Remake series | Named; remaining packs scheduled to release sequentially from November 4. |
| Persona | Named; remaining packs scheduled to release sequentially from November 4. |
The announcement says the other content will arrive sequentially from the Godzilla Pack’s scheduled November 4 release; it does not give a separate date in the cited material for each remaining crossover. As of the October 10 announcement (the latest Season Pass 2 information cited here), that first release date was still in the future. Therefore, a pack’s presence in the Season Pass 2 lineup is not the same as being playable. SEGA’s June announcement is available in English at the Season Pass 2 announcement. The October 10 lineup and timing are from SEGA’s official Japanese announcement, so its product and schedule details are reported here as translated; an English version was not verified. See SEGA’s Japanese announcement.
How to choose between the pass and individual packs
Choose based on the content you want, what you already own, and whether the desired pack has released—not simply because an edition or pass has “Deluxe” in its name.
Quick Recap
- You do not own the base game: compare the base game and the Digital Deluxe Edition listing on your platform. SEGA’s guide defines the first Digital Deluxe Edition as the base game plus the first Season Pass, but product names and entitlements should be checked carefully for the Season 2 Digital Deluxe Edition.
- You already own the base game and want several first-pass collaborations: compare the first Season Pass with the separate pack listings. The official guide confirms both purchase routes, but a single global price comparison is not available.
- You only want one specific crossover: look for that collaboration as a standalone platform-store purchase, and make sure it has been released on your platform and in your region.
- You want Season Pass 2: distinguish the announced six-pack lineup from released content. The October announcement gives a November 4, 2026 start date, followed by sequential releases; it does not provide separate dates for every pack.
- You are buying a physical copy: check local physical availability and the exact edition’s entitlement. Physical formats are not listed for every platform or market, and owning a physical base game does not by itself include a standalone crossover pack.
Common misunderstandings to avoid
- “The base game includes all crossovers.” The Standard Edition is described as the base game; premium packs are separate unless included by the specific edition or pass purchased.
- “Digital Deluxe includes every pass.” SEGA identifies the first Digital Deluxe Edition as including the first Season Pass. Its sources treat Season Pass 2 as a separate product.
- “Every pack has the same kind of content.” Confirmed examples show different rosters and themed items; check each pack’s announcement.
- “A pass announcement means all of its DLC is available.” Season Pass 2’s full roster was revealed October 10, while its first pack was scheduled for November 4, 2026, and the rest were to follow sequentially.
- “Bought means immediately accessible without any steps.” The Mega Man and TMNT notices specify tutorial completion for pass or Digital Deluxe owners, and store purchase, download, and restart for Standard or physical-edition owners. Follow the instructions for the pack in question.
