What is 1Presence?
1Presence is software, not a physical device. Founder Jon Kafton describes it as a hosted version of a system he had repeatedly built for earlier projects: an AI assistant that carries forward context about a person’s preferences, ongoing work, and things they want to track. The Google Play listing likewise presents it as an assistant that retains context and connects with digital tools. Those descriptions explain the product’s intended role; the reviewed sources do not measure how accurately it remembers or performs.

The central difference from a chat assistant that starts each conversation with little or no personal context is the promise of persistent, inspectable memory. Around that foundation, 1Presence is presented as an automation platform that can use connected services and purpose-built agents to do more than answer prompts.

Kafton describes two memory layers, intended to store information in different forms:

The founder says users can browse and edit the vault, inspect the memory graph, see which facts were used in an answer, and correct or remove inaccurate information. His stated design principle is: “You should never have to wonder what your AI knows about you.” That is the founder’s position, not an independently tested description of how every memory interaction works.
The article also says memory is represented in a compact notation intended to reduce prompt-token use. It supplies no comparative benchmark, so the claimed efficiency should not be read as a measured improvement over other systems.
How does 1Presence extend beyond chat?
The founder’s account and the app listing describe a mix of connected services and tools for ongoing work. The Play listing names Gmail or Outlook, calendars, Drive or OneDrive, Notion, Slack, GitHub, and CRMs as examples. It says the assistant can draft replies and that it will not send or post without the user’s approval. These are developer-provided feature descriptions, and the available integrations or behavior may change.
Agents, workflows, and routines
Kafton describes named agents with their own skills and connector permissions, as well as multi-stage workflows that can include specialist agents and human approval gates. The product account also lists recurring routines, live dashboards, structured datasets, and refillable document templates. The descriptions establish the kinds of features offered, not their reliability under particular workloads.

Meetings and voice
The founder says meeting recordings can be transcribed and summarized, with results filed in the vault. The Google Play listing also highlights voice interaction, meeting notes, integrations, and use across devices. The sources do not provide independent testing of transcription accuracy or supported device combinations.
Creative tools
Kafton says Creator Studio includes image and video generation, consented digital presenters with cloned voices, podcast audio, and multi-piece creative projects. The founder article described Creator Studio as invite-only at its publication; that status is time-sensitive, so check the current product listing for availability.
How are company spaces and scheduled agents handled?
The founder describes an organization-level shared vault and memory, team-scoped access, shared agents designed for specific purposes, and separate personal and organizational spaces. In the described model, access for an agent resolves from the member who invokes it rather than the person who created it.
A scheduled run is different: it has no person invoking it. Kafton says it runs within the scopes bound to that scheduled run and is recorded as the scheduler. This distinction matters when deciding what an automation can access; a scheduled task should not be assumed to inherit the permissions of whichever team member might otherwise run the agent.

What does the founder say about hosting and isolation?
Kafton says each user receives a dedicated pod on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), described as isolated and internal-only, with GCP Workload Identity and a service account scoped to that user’s data. He says state is held in Google Cloud Storage (GCS) and Firestore, pods are stateless, start with the first message, and scale to zero after ten minutes without activity.
These are architecture claims from the founder’s article, not an independent security assessment. The reviewed sources do not verify the deployed configuration, threat resistance, or resulting security outcomes. Organizations with specific assurance requirements should seek evidence suited to those requirements rather than treating an architecture description as an audit.

The Google Play listing says user data is not sold or used to train models, Markdown notes can be exported, and users can delete their account and data in-app. It also reports encryption in transit and developer-declared data-safety details. These are claims and disclosures supplied by the developer; they do not establish broader privacy guarantees or independent verification.
Kafton’s stated design position is: “The memory belongs to you, it should be readable by you, and you should always be in control of it.” For a practical evaluation, check whether the current app lets you inspect and correct the information it uses, what export includes, what deletion covers, and how connected services are authorized. The sources reviewed do not establish independent security testing or measured memory accuracy.

What are the reported plans and availability?
A surfaced copy of the founder article lists these personal plans and included token credits. The figures are article-reported terms, not a live checkout confirmation, and should be checked against current pricing before purchase.

The same article says the plans differ in credit headroom and thinking depth, while persistent memory, the vault, connectors, and unlimited agents are included across all three. It says usage stops by default when credit runs out; users can opt into automatic top-ups with a monthly cap, purchased credit does not expire, and refunds can be requested. These terms may change.
The founder article says 1Presence launched on August 27, 2026, and was free to try without a card. The Google Play listing reported an update on September 7, 2026. The sources establish a Google Play listing, not availability in every country or on every platform.

What should you weigh before using it?
1Presence’s defining proposition is not simply a chat interface; it is persistent personal or team context that users can inspect, paired with tools that can act across connected services. Whether that suits a particular task depends on more than the feature list. Consider these questions before relying on it:
- Can you review, correct, and remove the memories that matter to your work?
- Does the Markdown export contain the material you need to keep or move elsewhere?
- Are connector permissions and human approval steps appropriate for the actions you plan to automate?
- For scheduled jobs, are the scopes bound to the run narrow enough for its purpose?
- Does the service provide the independent security evidence your organization requires?
- Do current usage limits and billing terms fit your expected workload?
The reviewed sources describe product features and vendor claims, but do not provide independent comparisons, user studies, memory-accuracy measurements, or security testing. A careful evaluation should distinguish those claims from verified outcomes.
