In a T3 interview published on 5 October 2026, art director Rasmus Poulsen described the prerequisite as “certainly 100 NDAs” or so—an approximate remark, not a verified count. The process now feeds into the Valhalla Protocol, a post-launch TacSim driving mission described by T3.
Why IO Interactive wanted the Valhalla
T3 reports that IO Interactive decided early to include two Aston Martins in 007 First Light: a vintage DBS and the newest, most powerful car Aston Martin would make available to the team. The game distinguishes two DBS appearances: a 2006 model used for Bond’s training and a 1970 DBS featured in a chase in Slovakia.

Getting to know the Valhalla required keeping its existence confidential. Asked about the condition for learning about the car, art director Rasmus Poulsen told T3 it was “certainly 100 NDAs” or so. The phrasing conveys the secrecy surrounding access; it should not be read as a confirmed tally of signed agreements.

The challenge was to turn a real hypercar into an exciting piece of Bond equipment while keeping its presentation credible for the brand. Poulsen told T3 that the team discussed “credibility and bridging that gap between over-the-top excitement and cool restraint.” IO proposed weapons that could emerge from beneath the car’s exterior panels, an approach that lets the vehicle retain a relatively clean appearance until the gadgets are revealed.

Mission game director Dominic Vega described the aim to T3 as doing the brand justice and building a memorable moment around the ideas the teams developed. T3 reports that Aston Martin approved the resulting direction. The account presents the weapon design as a discussion and collaboration, rather than a case of the game team simply adding gadgets without the marque’s involvement.
Machine guns first, then missiles
According to T3, machine guns were the first weapon concept. A playtest prompted the team to reconsider what would make the sequence more fun. Vega recalled suggesting that Q’s assistant announce “missiles unlocked” over the intercom. The idea sent the team back to revise its concepts, adding missiles to the design.

Where the Valhalla Protocol fits
T3’s 5 October 2026 report identifies the Valhalla Protocol as a new TacSim mission in a post-launch update for 007 First Light. It describes the mission as driving the Valhalla through four missions in the Slovakian mountains, by day and night. The report also says the update adds New Game Plus and other TacSim content.

The headline phrase comes from Poulsen’s approximate recollection as reported by T3. It signals how closely the Valhalla’s identity was guarded before the team could work with it, but it does not document the number of legal agreements, who signed them, or the precise terms involved. The production account rests on T3’s interview with IO Interactive staff; it is not independently corroborated here.
