How does the update change House Party on Steam Deck?
More readable text and menus
The update adjusts text sizes and layouts for the Deck’s smaller display. The affected areas include dialogue, inventory text, Opportunities, Memories, and interaction menus.
Trackpad prompts and text entry
Controller prompts are more consistent when using the Deck’s trackpads, and on-screen keyboard support has been improved to make entering text easier.

A Steam Deck-only graphics preset
The new “Steam Deck Defaults” preset is available only on Steam Deck. Eek! Games says it is tuned to provide a better balance of performance and visual quality out of the box. The announcement gives no frame-rate, battery-life, or other measured performance results, so it does not establish how much faster or longer-running the game will be.
What does Steam Deck Defaults do, and should existing players select it?
The preset provides a starting point for graphics settings on Deck, and individual settings remain adjustable. New Steam Deck installations select it automatically. If you already play on Deck, the update preserves your saved graphics settings; you can opt into the preset under Graphics Settings if you want to try it.

Did controller support improve on desktop PC too?
Yes. The navigation work applies to controller players on desktop PC as well as Steam Deck users. Eek! Games describes improvements across the main menu, settings, character customizer, custom story browser, and shared design browser. The changes include clearer selection highlights, more reliable scrolling, and fixes for controls that were hard to reach or menus that were difficult to exit.

What localization fixes are included?
A bug could truncate translated story text after its first line. The update fixes that issue so longer translated passages retain their text, line breaks, and paragraphs. It also improves font coverage to address missing localized characters and refines existing translations. The announcement does not identify every language changed in this patch.

Are all of the patch’s fixes listed?
No. The official announcement mentions additional fixes but does not provide a complete list, so their specifics cannot be confirmed from the published notes. The detailed feature descriptions are in Eek! Games’ Steam announcement.
