How to edit an error page in hPanel
- Sign in to Hostinger and open Websites.
- Select the website and open its Dashboard.
- Choose Error Pages in the left sidebar.
- Select the error code you want to change, click Edit, and enter the HTML for that page.
- Save if the interface prompts you to, then visit a URL that returns that error code to check what visitors see. Hostinger’s instructions document the edit control but do not specify a separate preview workflow.
Hostinger’s current support instructions use the path Websites → Dashboard → Error Pages. An older Help Center article describes the route as Websites → Manage; sidebar names may differ as the interface changes. If the labels in your account do not match, look for “Error Pages” in the current site dashboard.

Which error pages can you change?
The setting lets eligible sites customize error pages using HTML. Choose the error code you want to edit; each code’s page is handled separately. To restore Hostinger’s default page for an error code, select it and use Reset. The current support article says customization is not supported for websites made with Hostinger AI Builder.
A custom page does not repair the error
An error page changes what visitors see; it does not correct the underlying cause. For example, a 404 means the server could not find the requested page. Hostinger lists possible causes such as a mistyped URL, missing content, a domain that has not been added or has only recently been registered, SSL or mixed-content problems, cached browser or DNS information, and incorrect file or directory permissions. WordPress sites may also return a 404 because of broken permalinks, .htaccess redirect rules, or plugins. See Hostinger’s 404 troubleshooting guide to investigate the cause.

- If only one URL fails, check that it is typed correctly and that the page exists.
- If the site or many pages fail, check the domain, SSL, cache, and file or directory configuration.
- On WordPress, check permalinks, redirect rules, and plugins as possible causes.
Fix the cause first, then customize the visitor-facing page if you want a clearer message or navigation back to working parts of the site.
Keep diagnostic errors separate from visitor-facing pages
PHP error display and logging are troubleshooting tools, not substitutes for a designed error page. Hostinger’s PHP error guidance covers displaying or logging errors and cautions that visible diagnostic details can expose sensitive information. Once you have finished investigating, hide visible errors again.
