For new customers, HostGator reseller hosting is not currently a buying option: HostGator says it no longer accepts new reseller sign-ups, though it continues to support existing accounts. For existing customers, whether the service is worth keeping depends on the legacy plan’s renewal cost, included resources and how much work you are prepared to do for your own hosting clients.
Can you still sign up for HostGator reseller hosting?
No. HostGator’s Hosting Price Chart says reseller plans are no longer offered to new sign-ups and that existing customers continue to receive support. The Hosting Comparison Chart corroborates the availability notice.

HostGator’s reseller landing page still contains plan and promotional-offer language. Because that conflicts with the explicit price-chart notice, do not treat an advertised introductory rate there as proof that a new account can be purchased. Existing customers should confirm their account’s status and terms directly with HostGator.

Reseller hosting lets you buy hosting infrastructure from a provider and sell hosting to clients under your own brand. HostGator positioned the service for freelancers and agencies already offering web design, development or related work. The reseller—not the provider—sets client-facing services and prices, and takes on the associated client relationships and support responsibilities.
Managing client accounts
HostGator’s documentation describes a stack that includes WHM, cPanel and billing software. WHM, or Web Host Manager, can manage multiple cPanel accounts. HostGator says its reseller WHM tools can create, delete and suspend accounts, and customize hosting and control-panel branding. These are documented capabilities, not the result of hands-on testing.
HostGator’s bandwidth policy says bandwidth or disk space can be adjusted through WHM, by upgrading to a higher tier or by ordering another package. Check your account’s actual resource allocation and terms before relying on those options for client workloads.

The work behind the white label
White-label branding does not remove the work of operating a small hosting business. You still need to decide what to sell, set client expectations, handle billing and respond when clients need help. The model is a closer fit for a designer or agency that wants to bundle hosting with existing services than for someone seeking passive referral income.

What legacy HostGator reseller plans cost
HostGator’s price chart lists the following regular US-dollar prices for legacy Aluminum and Copper plans. The selected term is billed upfront; the monthly figure for longer terms is a cost breakdown, not a monthly payment option.
| Plan | Term | Amount billed upfront | Monthly cost breakdown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aluminum | 1 month | $43.99 | $43.99 |
| Aluminum | 3 months | $128.97 | $42.99 |
| Aluminum | 6 months | $251.94 | $41.99 |
| Aluminum | 1 year | $491.88 | $40.99 |
| Aluminum | 2 years | $959.76 | $39.99 |
| Aluminum | 3 years | $1,403.64 | $38.99 |
| Copper | 1 month | $61.99 | $61.99 |
| Copper | 3 months | $179.97 | $59.99 |
| Copper | 6 months | $353.94 | $58.99 |
| Copper | 1 year | $695.88 | $57.99 |
| Copper | 2 years | $1,367.76 | $56.99 |
| Copper | 3 years | $1,979.64 | $54.99 |
Prices and term breakdowns in this table are HostGator’s published regular rates for legacy-plan context; the price chart does not state a publication year. They are not currently available new-customer offers. The reseller landing page says promotional prices, where offered, apply to the initial term and renew at the regular rate. Given the signup notice, confirm the rate that applies to your own account rather than using the landing page’s promotional language as a quote.
Is a legacy plan worth keeping?
There is no universal verdict for existing customers: compare what your account actually costs and provides with the value it delivers to your clients. Start with the full renewal bill, not just the monthly breakdown, and assess whether the plan’s resources and account controls still suit your workload.
Rank #4
- Total cost: Compare the renewal amount and billing term with the revenue you earn from hosted clients. A longer term can lower the published monthly breakdown but requires a larger upfront payment.
- Resources: Check your plan’s disk-space and bandwidth allocation, how much you use, and whether WHM adjustments or another package can cover expected growth.
- Client operations: Consider whether creating, suspending and managing separate cPanel accounts—and handling your clients’ questions—fits your team’s workflow.
- Branding and billing: Decide whether the documented white-label controls and billing workflow are sufficient for the service you promise clients.
- Alternative availability: If you need a new reseller account, evaluate providers currently accepting sign-ups. Check for per-account limits, account creation and suspension controls, white-label branding, billing integration, support responsibilities and transparent renewal pricing.
HostGator’s published material describes product capabilities and prices, but it does not establish independent uptime results or customer-satisfaction figures. The available evidence therefore cannot support a measured reliability or support-quality verdict.

With reseller hosting, you sell and manage hosting for clients under your own brand. An affiliate arrangement instead refers prospective customers to a provider; it does not give you the same hosting-account management role. HostGator distinguishes these models on its reseller page. That page mentions a referral commission, but the current program terms and eligibility are not established here, so confirm them with HostGator before relying on that figure.

Money-back guarantee: confirm account-specific terms
HostGator’s reseller page describes a 30-day money-back guarantee for basic hosting fees and excludes domain registration, setup and additional-service fees. Because the same page still presents offer language despite the price chart’s notice that new reseller sign-ups have ended, do not assume the guarantee applies to a particular legacy account. Check the terms attached to that account with HostGator.
