Hitachi says the compressor varies its cooling power and that separate Eco Thermo Sensors detect temperature changes in the refrigerator and freezer compartments. Those figures describe the manufacturer’s claims in a 2019 document; they do not establish real-world consumption in a particular home or current energy-label status.
The product sheet calls the finish “Brilliant Silver.” CHOICE’s public listing describes it as stainless steel, but those labels alone do not confirm the material or construction of the exterior.

CHOICE’s public listing identifies a freezer-on-bottom model, a 2024 test year, and “Discontinued model” availability. It displays a price of $899, but this is the price shown on the page accessed in 2026—not a verified current offer. Dimensions and installation requirements
CHOICE lists the body as 160 cm high, 56 cm wide, and 66 cm deep. Its recommended installation dimensions are 165 cm high, 66 cm wide, and 71 cm deep. Check the appliance’s actual measurements and the space needed for doors, drawers, delivery, and ventilation before buying; the recommended installation envelope is larger than the body dimensions. - Place the refrigerator on a rigid, level floor.
- Use it in a room between 10°C and 43°C, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Allow at least 30 cm above and 5 cm at each side. The manual says rear clearance must not exceed 7.5 cm.
- Use a grounded, exclusive wall outlet at the rated voltage, and confirm local electrical requirements.

Capacity, energy use, and warranty claims

Hitachi’s 2019 product sheet states 316 kWh per year and lists a five-year parts-and-labour warranty, plus an additional five years of parts warranty on the inverter compressor. Treat both as historical manufacturer statements. Allow time to cool before loading food
According to the manual, the compressor may start running in about 30 seconds if the interior is not cold. It advises allowing about four hours for sufficient cooling before loading food, or potentially about 24 hours when the surrounding temperature is high. Keep air moving and store food appropriately
- Leave space between items and do not block the cold-air vent.
- Let hot food cool before refrigerating it.
- Use wrapping or sealed containers to limit drying and odor transfer.
- The manual says the Fresh Select compartment can hold fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, or fish. High-moisture food placed near the cold-air vent may freeze; use the freezer for meat or fish intended for longer storage.
- The Spot Cool area on the lower shelf directs chilled air toward items placed there.
The manual describes temperature figures as approximate and conditional on a 32°C surrounding temperature, normal settings, closed doors, and no food load. If you find one advertised, establish whether it is remaining stock or used, and check its age, condition, seller, service support, warranty coverage, and actual price.
