The Hisense 55Q6QAU is a 55-inch 4K QLED smart TV for general streaming and everyday viewing, with HDR support and basic gaming features. Its published native refresh rate is 60 Hz, and it does not offer 120 Hz or HDMI 2.1. If you want a sharp, feature-rich streaming TV for living-room viewing, it is a reasonable candidate. If you want high-refresh console or PC gaming, look elsewhere.

Picture and HDR
Hisense lists QLED Colour, AI 4K Upscaler, AI Smooth Motion, and HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. Those are feature names. The sources available for this model do not include measured peak brightness, contrast, colour accuracy or motion handling. The 350 brightness figure comes from a spec sheet, and its test method is not given, so it should be read as a claim rather than a measured result.
Hisense’s own marketing describes the set this way: “Experience vibrant QLED colour, Dolby Vision™ visuals, and immersive Dolby Atmos® sound with the Hisense Q6Q.” That is manufacturer copy, not an independent assessment of picture quality.

Gaming and sport
Refresh rate
The native refresh rate is 60 Hz. The sources do not support claims of 4K at 120 Hz or HDMI 2.1 connectivity. For a 60 Hz panel, the features that matter most are the ones that manage frame timing, so the next two subsections focus on those.

Hisense lists VRR and Game Mode Plus. The retailer-hosted sheet also lists ALLM. These features help with input lag and frame pacing, but no lag measurements for this model were found in public sources, so the amount of improvement is not established.
Rank #3
- HI - QLED MINILED: Striking contrast and vivid, lifelike color put every scene in a new light. Whether it's a sunny landscape or a candlelit drama, the picture leaps off the screen. Mini-LED backlighting uses hundreds of precise light zones to enhance contrast across the screen. Paired with Hi-QLED technology, every color comes through with stunning depth and accuracy
- NATIVE 144HZ REFRESH RATE: Fast breaks, high-speed chases, live finales — every frame stays crisp and fluid, so the action is always exactly where you need it to be. Native 144Hz refresh performance keeps movement fast and sharp, reducing blur during gameplay and live sports. The quick response helps you stay in control during competitive gaming while making rapid camera shots in shows and movies easier to follow
- BUILT-IN SUBWOOFER: Immersive deep bass from the built-in subwoofer pulls you into the heart of the moment, from the rumble of an explosion to the thump of your favorite song. Feel like you’re a part of the action
- ANTI-REFLECTION & GLARE-FREE: Bright rooms are no match for this screen. The anti-reflection and glare-free display keeps your view clean and distraction-free, so you stay focused on what matters — the show
- UNIBODY SLIM DESIGN: Edge-to-edge display and a seamless design that disappears into your room — so all you see is the picture
Sport and fast motion
Owner feedback on sport is mixed. One ProductReview.com.au owner reported motion issues during sport, and another mentioned motion artifacts and glow. These are individual accounts from a very small number of posts, not controlled testing.
Smart platform and apps
The TV runs VIDAA U8.5, and Hisense’s page lists several major streaming apps. Hisense also notes that app and content availability may vary. App lineups change by region and software update, so an app listed on a product page is not guaranteed to be available on your unit.
Rank #4
- MINILED PRO WITH UP TO 5000 NITS PEAK BRIGHTNESS AND UP TO 5600 LOCAL DIMMING ZONES: See the realism of every shadow cast by the players and the ball. When your TV is backlit by thousands of tiny LEDs, your viewing experience gets even more precise. Think of the LEDs like thousands of pinpoints of light illuminating your screen. And Full Array Local Dimming creates deeper shadows and brighter highlights, while virtually eliminating halos
- HI-VIEW AI ENGINE PRO: Enjoy the game from home, but feel like you’re there. Powered by the Hisense proprietary chipset, Hi-View AI Engine Pro automatically optimizes the picture and sound based on the content you are watching. This intelligent feature detects, analyzes and adjusts the details, depth and appearance of everything you watch or play, making every visual even more realistic
- NATIVE 165HZ PANEL WITH GAME BOOSTER 288: Turbo power your gaming! The Native 165Hz Panel has a Variable Refresh Rate of 48Hz to 165Hz, almost as fast as your reaction time. AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Auto Low Latency Mode and Low Latency MEMC eliminate screen tearing and controller lag. And with our new Game Bar you can control multiple game settings right from your TV remote and on-screen display
- ENHANCED GAME BAR: Enjoy your gaming dashboard and manage performance in real time. Seamlessly adjust settings and monitor gameplay data as you play. Lead the moment. Play to win
- ANTI-REFLECTION PRO: Keep your eye on the ball all day and all night long. Anti-Reflection Pro incorporates a special coating into the liquid crystal layer of the screen to minimize glare and reflections, so you can see the picture in all of its vibrancy and detail without any interference
Before buying, check the following:
- Each streaming service you pay for, confirmed against the current VIDAA app catalogue for Australia.
- Whether any service you rely on requires a specific app version or a casting workaround.
- Whether the software is updated after purchase, since app support can change after release.
Sound and connections
Built-in audio
The set lists Dolby Atmos support and a 2 × 10 W speaker output. Dolby Atmos here refers to format decoding, and it does not establish immersive sound from the built-in speakers. For dialogue-focused viewing the speakers are adequate; for film or music, the sound quality from the built-in speakers is not established by the sources.
Ports and inputs
There are three HDMI inputs, with HDMI ARC on HDMI 3. Two USB ports, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 are listed. If you plan to connect a soundbar, HDMI ARC on HDMI 3 is the port to use for it. The TV’s Dolby Atmos support makes a soundbar a natural optional add-on, but no specific soundbar pairing has been tested or verified.

Whether you're watching a film or displaying a masterpiece, the CanvasTV brings color to life with a level of depth and accuracy that makes everything on screen feel real enough to reach out and touch.
Size, stand and mounting
The set measures 1233 × 716 × 80 mm without its stand, and 1233 × 751 × 298 mm with the stand, which weighs 11 kg in the listed configuration. The stand dimensions mean you should measure your entertainment unit before purchase, since the stand depth adds to the footprint. Wall-mount dimensions are not stated in the sources reviewed, so check the manual for the VESA pattern and hardware before buying a bracket.
Price and availability
- Hisense Australia’s product page showed an RRP of AUD 899 and an “Out of stock” status when checked on 7 October 2026.
- CHOICE Australia’s listing for the exact model labels it discontinued.
- Both observations can be true at once: the model may remain on manufacturer pages while individual retailers stop selling it. Check the live listing at the seller you plan to use, and confirm the full model suffix matches 55Q6QAU.
Independent and owner evidence
CHOICE Australia has a review page for this exact model, but its test results and recommendations are restricted to members. The public page shows the specifications and the AUD 899 listed price, but no public score. No independent lab measurements for this model were found in public sources.
Two owner reviews were found on ProductReview.com.au. Both owners reported good value and generally positive picture and streaming impressions. One mentioned motion artifacts, screen glow and weak voice control, and another noted sport motion issues and difficult rear-port access. Two posts is far too few to represent typical satisfaction or reliability.

Buyer checklist
- Confirm the model suffix 55Q6QAU on the box or the seller’s listing.
- Confirm the seller’s warranty terms, since the three-year warranty is the manufacturer’s listed term.
- Check that every streaming service you use is available on the VIDAA catalogue.
- Measure the space and check the manual’s VESA specification if you plan to wall-mount.
- If high-refresh gaming is important, choose a model that lists a higher native refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 support.
