If Hinge is not working, first check whether the issue follows your account across devices or appears only on one phone, then test a different reliable connection. A third-party outage tracker can offer a clue, but it cannot confirm an official outage. If the problem seems local, work through the fix for your symptom below—starting with connection and login checks before trying more disruptive steps.
Is Hinge down, or is the problem on your device?
Try Hinge on another device if you can, or ask whether other users are reporting the same issue. You can also switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If the app works on another device or connection, that points toward a device, network, or account-specific problem rather than a broad service issue.

Hinge recommends checking your connection, signing out and back in to refresh synchronization, and reinstalling the app if the problem persists. A large set of likes, hidden chats, or conversations syncing can cause a slight delay, so give the app a moment on a stable connection before assuming content is gone. Hinge’s Basic Troubleshooting guide was last updated February 17, 2026.

- Test your connection. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data if possible, and try another app or website to confirm the connection works.
- Close and reopen Hinge. If the app remains unresponsive, restart your phone.
- Install available updates. Update Hinge and your device’s operating system. Apple and Google both recommend checking app and system updates when an app will not open or respond. Apple’s app troubleshooting steps were published March 31, 2026; Google’s Android app troubleshooting guide was accessed October 7, 2026.
- On Android, try force-stopping Hinge. If needed, clear its cache through your device’s app settings. Android menu labels differ by phone. Treat “Clear data” as a later option: it can remove locally stored app data.
- Reinstall Hinge if the earlier steps fail. Hinge recommends reinstalling to ensure you have the latest app. Reinstalling does not delete your Hinge profile; deleting your account is a separate action inside the app. Follow the platform-specific guidance for iPhone or Android (both updated December 23, 2025). Apple notes that deleting an app can remove data stored locally on the device, so do not confuse local app data with your Hinge profile.
Hinge won’t let you log in or shows a new-account prompt
Choose the same sign-in method you used when you created your Hinge account: phone number, Google account, or Apple ID. If you registered with a phone number, use that original number. Selecting a different method can prompt you to create a new account instead of opening the existing one. See Hinge’s login troubleshooting guide, updated January 29, 2026.
Hinge verification code not received
First check that you entered the correct phone number. Hinge also identifies carrier blocking of SMS short codes and some prepaid plans as possible reasons a verification text may not arrive. Ask your carrier whether short-code messages are blocked on your line.

If repeated attempts have triggered a lockout, wait at least 24 hours before trying again. Hinge says it cannot manually override that lock. Its SMS verification guidance was updated December 23, 2025.

Why did your Hinge matches disappear?
Matches can take a moment to reappear while the app resynchronizes after an update. Check your connection, sign out and back in, and allow time for the list to reload. If matches remain missing, restart your device or update Hinge. A temporary display or sync issue alone does not establish that your matches were permanently deleted. How to contact Hinge safely
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, use Hinge’s Help Center request form or its in-app support options. Include the exact symptom, when it began, your account contact details, phone operating system and version, Hinge app version, relevant screenshots or a screen recording, and the troubleshooting steps you already tried.
Hinge says it has no customer support phone number, offers support free, and will not ask for remote access to your computer. Avoid phone numbers posted elsewhere online that claim to be Hinge support; use the official Hinge Help Center instead.
