Neither VPN can be called faster from the available evidence: there is no controlled, like-for-like performance test comparing hide.me and CyberGhost. The clearest differences are in advertised features, device limits, pricing displays, and the dates and scopes of their audit disclosures. Prices and availability vary by region, so compare the full checkout charge and renewal terms where you live.

Which VPN is faster?
There is no substantiated speed winner here. Vendor descriptions, server totals, and feature lists cannot show whether hide.me or CyberGhost will deliver higher download or upload speeds, lower latency, or a steadier connection for you. Results vary with your location, ISP, device, protocol, destination server, network congestion, and test time.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →A meaningful comparison would use the same device, ISP, base connection, server destinations, protocol, and time windows; repeat runs; and report baseline and VPN download speed, upload speed, latency, and disconnects. Without those controls, claims that one is faster should be treated as unproven.

Do hide.me and CyberGhost work for streaming, P2P, and gaming?
Streaming
Both promote streaming support, including optimized server options. That is not a guarantee that a service will work with a particular platform, library, country, or device. CyberGhost’s streaming page says using its VPN to access a content library from another country is against its terms of service. Consider that restriction before choosing it for cross-border catalog access.
P2P and gaming
CyberGhost advertises dedicated server options for P2P and gaming. hide.me’s cited homepage advertises streaming-optimized servers, multihop, and dynamic port forwarding, but does not establish an equivalent dedicated P2P or gaming server claim in the cited material. Actual availability and performance depend on location and platform.

What do the audit disclosures establish?
hide.me
The Securitum executive summary says the review assessed hide.me’s declared no-log policy and identifies the product state as of 15 March 2024. The provider’s 2024 transparency report says a no-log audit was completed in 2024 and notes that its mobile apps passed MASA. These are distinct disclosures: the summary specifies the state assessed, while the transparency report describes the audit and app assessment. An audit describes a defined scope and point in time; it does not prove that a service’s current state has remained unchanged.
CyberGhost
CyberGhost’s 2024 transparency report describes a Deloitte review of its server network and management systems that began in September 2022. The report says auditors found no data that could trace user activity to a specific account. This is a dated disclosure about the described review, not evidence of a new audit in 2026.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- Next-Gen Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Speeds: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz bands ensure smoother streaming and faster downloads; support VPN server and VPN client¹
- A More Responsive Experience: Enjoy smooth gaming, video streaming, and live feeds simultaneously. OFDMA makes your Wi-Fi stronger by allowing multiple clients to share one band at the same time, cutting latency and jitter.²

- Improved Battery Life: Target Wake Time helps your devices to communicate efficiently while consuming less power.
- Improved Cooling Design: No heat ups, no throttles. A larger heat sink and redefined case design cools the WiFi 6 system and enables your network to stay at top speeds in more versatile environments.
Which one should you choose?
- Consider hide.me if its advertised multihop, dynamic port forwarding, or 10-connection Premium limit fits your needs, and its full GBP or local checkout price works for you.
- Consider CyberGhost if you value its listed OpenVPN and IKEv2 options, or its advertised streaming, P2P, and gaming server categories, and you accept its terms on accessing other countries’ content libraries.
- Do not choose on speed alone based on the available vendor claims; there is no controlled comparison here.
- For either service, verify the app supports your devices, compare the full amount charged and the renewal terms, and check refund eligibility for your purchase channel.
