To hide an app on a Galaxy S21, open the Home screen’s settings, choose Hide apps on Home and Apps screens, select the apps, and tap Done. This removes their icons from those screens; it does not uninstall the apps or prevent someone from finding them through Apps screen search.

On the Home screen, touch and hold an empty area.

Tap Settings.

Tap Hide apps on Home and Apps screens.

Select the apps you want to hide, then tap Done.
Samsung documents this route for Galaxy devices generally, rather than for a specific Galaxy S21 software build. Labels or menu placement can vary by model, region, and software version. If you do not see the setting, search Settings for “Hide apps” or consult Samsung US support or Samsung Canada support.

Unhide an app
Return to the same Hide apps on Home and Apps screens menu. In the Hidden apps list, tap the red minus icon beside the app you want to restore, then tap Done. The app’s icon will again be available on the Home and Apps screens.
What hiding does—and does not do
Hiding removes an app’s icon from the Home and Apps screens, but leaves the app installed. Samsung Canada notes that someone may still find a hidden app by entering its name in Apps screen search. This feature is therefore useful for reducing clutter or keeping an icon out of immediate view, not for securing an app against discovery.

Removing a shortcut from the Home screen is different: it removes only that shortcut, while the app remains visible in the Apps screen. Samsung explains the distinction in its Galaxy app-hiding guidance.
When Secure Folder is a better fit
Samsung’s Secure Folder is a separate protected space for apps and files, set up with an authentication method. It serves a different purpose from hiding an icon: access to content in Secure Folder is protected by that configured authentication. The Secure Folder shortcut can also be hidden, but that does not make the space inaccessible; Samsung UK says it can still be opened through Settings. Secure Folder should not be treated as a guarantee that every trace of app use disappears.

Hiding is not disabling
Choose Hide apps when you want to remove an icon from view while keeping the app installed and available. Disabling an app is intended to stop its functions, and Samsung says the option is available only for some apps. Some essential pre-installed apps cannot be deleted. See Samsung’s instructions for disabling apps if stopping an eligible app is what you mean to do.
