If a Hexowatch screenshot is blank, first open the exact monitored URL in a regular browser. If it is blank there too, investigate the page; if it renders normally, check Hexowatch’s preview, capture area, and—where supported—page timing or interactions. These checks help isolate the cause, but Hexowatch’s accessible FAQ does not expose its answer to this specific problem.
1. Check whether the page itself is blank
Open the exact URL configured in the monitor in a normal browser and wait for the page to finish loading. If it is blank there as well, start with the target site or resources it needs rather than assuming the screenshot capture is at fault. This is a diagnostic step, not a formal Hexowatch decision tree. Hexowatch describes its service as a website monitoring platform; its visual monitor captures and archives screenshots to track visual changes.
If the page displays correctly in your browser but Hexowatch’s image is blank, continue with the monitor setup checks below.
2. Preview the URL and verify what is being captured
In the visual-monitor setup, enter the URL and use the preview before starting or changing the monitor. Confirm that the expected page content is visible in the preview. Hexowatch’s visual-monitor walkthrough describes selecting either the whole page or a specific region after the page loads. If the preview is blank too, note whether the same URL rendered in your regular browser. That distinction helps you describe the problem when seeking vendor support.
3. Account for content that loads late or needs interaction
Some pages do not show their final content immediately, or display it only after an action. The documented controls depend on the monitor type: Hexowatch’s HTML-element monitor walkthrough includes a delay and page actions, including clicking elements, typing in form fields, and refreshing. It also documents blocking visual pop-ups and setting cookie values manually. These controls are documented for the HTML-element monitor; do not assume they are available in the visual monitor. When the chosen monitor supports the needed control, adjust one variable at a time and preview again. For example, allow a delay if content appears after the initial load, or configure the required interaction if the page is gated behind a button. If the page depends on a consent choice, check whether the relevant cookie state is set for that monitor.
4. Check schedule and alerts only after the preview is right
The visual-monitor setup includes check frequency and notification choices. These determine when checks run and how alerts arrive; they do not repair a blank rendering. 5. If the page is blank in Chrome too
When the target page itself is blank in Chrome, Google’s general Chrome guidance for blank media symptoms suggests checking JavaScript, extensions, cache and cookies, and whether Chrome is up to date. These are browser-side checks for Chrome; they are not Hexowatch-specific fixes and do not establish how Hexowatch’s cloud capture works. Consult Google Chrome Help for the applicable guidance.
6. Ask Hexowatch support when the capture remains blank
Hexowatch’s FAQ includes the question, “What if a page doesn’t display correctly when monitoring?” The answer was not exposed in the accessible FAQ content, so there is no verified vendor-specific fix to give for that question.
