Hero V11 is a free downloadable hero-section template from Colorlib, built with HTML and CSS plus a small amount of vanilla JavaScript. Colorlib says it does not require Bootstrap files, jQuery, or plugins, though it can be used inside Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects. It is listed as a September 2026 release under the CC BY 3.0 license, with a 159 KB download.
What Hero V11 includes
Colorlib presents Hero V11 as a cinematic opening section for an outdoor brand film or landing page. Instead of a video background, the scene is drawn in CSS: a dusk sky shifts, stars twinkle, a sun sets, and three mountain layers move at different speeds. The effect is intended to provide depth and motion without making a background video the central visual element.

A prominent play control opens a placeholder 16:9 player inside a native HTML <dialog>. The placeholder is meant to be replaced with a video element or an embed. These features and behaviors are described by Colorlib; the downloaded files were not independently inspected or tested for this article.

Does Hero V11 require Bootstrap?
No, according to Colorlib: the template uses plain HTML and CSS with a few lines of vanilla JavaScript, and does not require Bootstrap files, jQuery, or plugins. Colorlib says it can also be dropped into Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects. That is a publisher-stated compatibility claim, not evidence that every version or configuration has been independently verified.

Bootstrap is a front-end toolkit that includes a responsive grid, components, and JavaScript plugins. Its official homepage showed version 5.3.8 when checked, but that version information does not validate Hero V11’s compatibility across Bootstrap releases. Bootstrap itself also offers hero-style examples and utilities; using Hero V11 is an alternative, not a requirement for building a hero section.
Interaction and accessibility features
Colorlib says the player dialog traps focus while open, closes with Escape, its close control, or a backdrop click, and returns focus to the play button when dismissed. The scene is also said to pause while the dialog is open, with motion stopping for users whose system settings request reduced motion. These are useful behaviors to look for in an animated hero, but they remain the publisher’s descriptions rather than independently audited accessibility results.

Hero V11 may suit a landing page that needs an illustrated outdoor atmosphere and a film-launch interaction, especially if you want a self-contained section rather than a Bootstrap-dependent component. Its animated scenery is a specific visual choice: it is less appropriate when the page needs a different subject, a static brand image, or a video background. Before using it in a live project, check the downloaded markup, adapt the placeholder player, and verify the dialog and reduced-motion behavior in your target browsers.
