A leaked video suggests iPhone Duo can show a PDF in Quick Look as a two-page spread when you hold the phone open like a book. The clip comes from leaker pdfu and was reported by 9to5Mac on October 6, 2026. It is a leak-based preview. Apple hasn’t confirmed this Quick Look behavior, and 9to5Mac doesn’t describe hands-on testing.
What the leaked video appears to show
pdfu (@itspdfu) posted: “Quick Look on iPhone Duo has a new two-page layout in the open book position.” 9to5Mac embedded the post and reported on it. The video appears to show a PDF in Quick Look split across the 7.6-inch inner display as two facing pages, the way a printed book or magazine spread looks.

The idea suits a foldable. A phone that opens into a nearly square, book-shaped screen has room for a spread, and the fold sits where the gutter would be. The report ties the layout to the open position and doesn’t say whether it appears when the phone is closed or in other postures.

What Apple has confirmed, and what it hasn’t
Apple’s September 9, 2026 announcement covers the device and its multitasking, not this PDF feature.

- Software: iOS 27 adapts to the device, and Split View runs two apps side by side. You can also open two windows of the same app, such as Safari.
- Executive framing: John Ternus, identified as Apple’s CEO in the release, said: “With the largest display ever on iPhone that still fits easily in your pocket, combined with the power of A20 Pro, iPhone Duo helps you stay more immersed and productive wherever you go, whether you’re enjoying content, multitasking across apps, or gaming.”
Nothing in that announcement mentions Quick Look or two-page PDFs. Treat the spread layout as plausible but unconfirmed, and its final behavior could differ from the clip.
How this differs from Pages’ Two Pages View
Don’t confuse the Quick Look report with a feature iPhone already has. In Apple Pages on iPhone, Apple Support says you can tap More → View Options → Two Pages View. Documents set up with facing pages appear side by side by default, and you can turn the setting off. That is a documented Pages control for Pages documents. The Quick Look layout is a separate, reported behavior in a different viewer.

What we still don’t know
- Single-page option: 9to5Mac’s author thinks a single-page mode could be useful, but the clip doesn’t show a control for switching, so whether one exists is unknown.
- Legibility: There are no measurements of text size, rendering or reading comfort, and no comparison with an iPad.
- Scope: It’s unclear whether the layout applies to every PDF or only some, and whether other apps that use Quick Look get it too.
- Apple Pencil: 9to5Mac’s writer mentions expecting Pencil support later this year, but that is the writer’s expectation. The Apple sources reviewed don’t confirm Pencil compatibility, so don’t plan around it.
Launch details, U.S. only
Apple said iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 in the U.S. Preorders begin October 16, 2026, and availability begins October 23, 2026. These are Apple’s announced U.S. details. Pricing and dates elsewhere aren’t covered here.
