Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is a first-person, single-player survival-horror action game, scheduled to release on October 8, 2026. It tells a new story in the Hellraiser universe rather than continuing or adapting the plots of the first two films. What kind of game is Hellraiser: Revival?
Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games announced Revival on July 22, 2025 as a single-player, story-driven survival-horror action game. Saber’s support FAQ describes it as first-person, making “first-person survival-horror action” the most useful short description. Saber calls it the first-ever Hellraiser game (Saber Interactive’s announcement; Saber’s support FAQ).

Who you play and what you do
You play as Aidan, who is trying to save his girlfriend, Sunny, after she activates the Genesis Configuration, a mysterious puzzle box. The box is both part of the story and a gameplay element: Aidan must use its abilities while surviving a bargain with Pinhead and confronting a cult devoted to the Cenobites. The setup centers the familiar Hellraiser mix of supernatural danger, puzzles and horror rather than presenting the game as a film retelling.
How does the game fit the Hellraiser films?
Revival is a new story set in the Hellraiser universe, not a direct sequel to or adaptation of the first two movies. Executive producer Nenad Tomic told Xbox Wire that the game draws on those films’ atmosphere, themes and mythos, while its plot is not directly connected to them. He also said Clive Barker has been involved from the beginning (Xbox Wire Q&A with Nenad Tomic).

The recognizable touchpoints include the Genesis Configuration, the Cenobites and their unsettling designs and motivations, and the series’ themes of pain and pleasure. Doug Bradley, who played Pinhead in the films, returns to voice the character. Saber’s announcement described this as Bradley’s return to the role for the first time in nearly two decades (Saber Interactive’s announcement).
Is there a long history of Hellraiser video games?
Not according to the official material available: Saber describes Revival as the first-ever Hellraiser game. There are earlier video games associated with Clive Barker, but they are not Hellraiser games. The official Clive Barker games archive lists Nightbreed: The Action Game and Nightbreed: The Interactive Movie (1990), Clive Barker’s Undying (2001), The Labyrinth of The Abarat (2004) and Clive Barker’s Jericho (2007). Those titles provide context for Barker’s connection to games; they should not be counted as earlier entries in a Hellraiser game series.

When does Hellraiser: Revival release, and where can you play it?
As of October 7, 2026, the announced release date is October 8, 2026. Saber’s FAQ lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam. PlayStation Blog and Nintendo UK also list October 8, 2026 for their respective platforms (Saber’s support FAQ; PlayStation Blog; Nintendo UK listing). These are scheduled dates, not confirmation that the game has already launched; check the relevant store for current availability.

Nintendo UK lists a PEGI 18 rating, eight languages—English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese—and a 40.6 GB download size for its Switch 2 product. How long is it, and can you play offline?
Saber’s support FAQ estimates a playthrough at around 8–12 hours and says an internet connection is not required. The playtime is the publisher’s estimate, not an independently measured result. The FAQ also says there are no post-launch content plans “at this time”; that is a snapshot of the FAQ, not a guarantee about future updates (Saber’s support FAQ).
