The MediaTek Helio G99 is the stronger chipset on the listed specifications and the cited benchmark scores: it has newer CPU cores, a higher peak clock, and higher aggregate AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6 results. Both platforms are 4G, however, and those chip-level advantages do not establish that every Helio G99 phone is a better buy than every Snapdragon 665 phone.
Helio G99 vs Snapdragon 665 specifications
The manufacturers’ specifications show clear differences in CPU design, process, and listed platform capabilities. A specification describes what a chip supports; it does not guarantee that a handset maker implements every feature.

Sources: MediaTek’s Helio G99 specifications and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 specifications, accessed October 7, 2026. MediaTek also lists Bluetooth 5.2, Full HD+ display support up to 2520 × 1080, and dual 4G VoLTE. These are platform specifications, not independent performance measurements.
CPU and graphics: what the specifications suggest
CPU architecture and clock speed
The Helio G99’s two Cortex-A76 cores, clocked up to 2.2GHz, are a newer high-performance design than the Snapdragon 665’s Kryo 260 cores, which Qualcomm lists up to 2GHz. The G99 also pairs them with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. This gives the G99 the stronger paper specification for CPU-heavy work, but actual responsiveness depends on the phone’s software, memory, cooling, and implementation.

GPU and gaming
MediaTek names the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU; Qualcomm names the Adreno 610. The cited benchmark comparison favors the G99 overall, but aggregate scores cannot tell you how a particular game will run. Frame rates and sustained performance depend on the handset, game settings, software, and heat management.

| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 1,128 | 2,007 | NanoReview aggregate results |
Source: NanoReview’s Snapdragon 665 vs Helio G99 comparison. The displayed scores support the limited conclusion that the G99 scores higher in this aggregator’s comparison. They are not results from a controlled, same-phone test: the AnTuTu sample counts differ substantially, and device cooling, memory, software, benchmark build, and run conditions can affect scores. Both chipsets are 4G platforms, not 5G
The official pages describe LTE connectivity for both processors and do not present either as a 5G platform. MediaTek lists Cat-13 LTE for the G99; Qualcomm lists an X12 LTE modem with downloads up to 600Mbps. These are modem capabilities, not guaranteed real-world speeds: coverage, carrier, network conditions, and the handset’s implementation matter.

Which chipset should you choose?
Choose a Helio G99 phone if
- You want the newer CPU architecture and stronger listed peak CPU clock.
- You value the higher scores shown in NanoReview’s cited AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6 comparison.
- You want a platform that supports features such as up to 120Hz refresh or up to 108MP camera resolution, provided the specific phone includes them.
Consider a Snapdragon 665 phone if
- You are evaluating a particular handset whose price, condition, features, or software support better suit your needs.
- You are not choosing solely on chipset benchmark results and can verify the phone’s real-world performance and update status.
The cited sources do not compare matched phones for battery endurance, sustained heat, camera quality, software support, or price. Before buying, compare the exact handset model and regional variant, display, battery, camera hardware, storage configuration, seller, and update policy. The chipset alone cannot settle those questions.
