The Helio G91 is the faster, more capable chipset overall. It pairs newer CPU cores with a stronger listed GPU, and published benchmark results favor it over the Helio G37. The G37’s headline advantage is a higher peak CPU clock—up to 2.3 GHz versus 2.0 GHz on the G91—but clock speed alone does not determine performance. Both are 12 nm, octa-core 4G chips, and results vary by phone and benchmark.
Helio G37 vs Helio G91 specifications
The key difference is the CPU design: the G91 has two performance-oriented Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, while all eight G37 cores are Cortex-A53. Both chips have eight cores and use a 12 nm process, but that does not make them equally fast.

These are chipset capabilities and published specifications, not a guarantee that every phone using a chip includes the same memory, screen, camera sensor, or features. MediaTek’s official G91 specifications list eMMC 5.1; although NanoReview lists UFS 2.1 for the G91, that faster storage type is not confirmed by the official page cited here.

Which is faster: Helio G37 or Helio G91?
The G91 is the stronger choice for general processing based on its newer CPU cores and the benchmark results published for both chips. The G37 reaches a higher stated maximum clock on some cores, but those are Cortex-A53 cores; the G91’s two Cortex-A75 cores use a newer design, while its Cortex-A55 cores handle efficiency-oriented work. A higher GHz figure by itself is not a reliable measure of how quickly a processor completes a task.

The available scores below come from different phones and published samples. They are useful evidence of the overall direction, not a controlled, same-device test or a guaranteed score for a particular handset.
91mobiles scores
91mobiles reports AnTuTu scores of 265,150 for the G91 and 138,566 for the G37, describing each as the highest recorded by a device using that chipset. Its published Geekbench figures are 412 single-core and 1,448 multi-core for the G91, compared with 203 and 904 for the G37. These are chipset-page results, not a paired test under identical phone conditions.

NanoReview scores
NanoReview’s comparison reports AnTuTu 11 scores of 354,158 for the G91 and 215,798 for the G37. Its Geekbench 6 figures are 405 single-core and 1,407 multi-core for the G91, versus 198 and 868 for the G37. The sample is limited: NanoReview lists 15 G91 and four G37 tests for AnTuTu 11, and fewer than three G91 and five G37 tests for the Geekbench 6 CPU results. It also reports PCMark 3.0 scores of 9,091 for the G91 and 5,552 for the G37, based on three G91 phone models and six G37 phone models.

Gaming and graphics
The G91 has the stronger listed GPU: MediaTek specifies an Arm Mali-G52 MC2 running up to 1 GHz, while independent specification listings give the G37’s PowerVR GE8320 a 680 MHz clock. NanoReview’s GPU-related results also favor the G91, but the available samples are small. These specifications and tests point to an advantage for the G91; they do not establish a specific frame rate or guarantee smooth performance in a particular game.
Actual gaming depends on the phone’s cooling, power limits, memory, software, screen resolution, and the game’s own settings. No controlled side-by-side test establishes sustained frame rates or thermal behavior for the two chips across handsets.

Connectivity and phone features
Both chipsets are 4G, not 5G
Both are listed as LTE Cat. 7 chips, and neither supports 5G in the cited comparison. A phone’s actual network compatibility also depends on its model, supported bands, and local carrier.

MediaTek lists the G91 platform for displays up to 90 Hz and 2,520 × 1,080 resolution, along with 108 MP camera support. These are platform capabilities; phone makers choose the actual screen, camera sensors, and implementation. The G91’s camera specification does not by itself establish image quality.

Which chip should you choose in a phone?
If two otherwise similar phones are available at comparable prices, the G91 is the better chipset choice for processing and graphics based on the architecture, listed GPU, and published benchmark results. But the chip alone is not enough to judge a phone. Compare the exact handset’s RAM and storage, screen, battery, cameras, software support, price, and local network-band compatibility.
For context, 91mobiles lists the Itel S24 as a G91 phone and the Infinix Hot 30i among G37 phones. Those listings identify examples, not recommendations or confirmation of current availability; configurations and stock can vary by market.
