Wishing Stars and Moonlight Crystals are separate Heartopia currencies, and they are used in different spending contexts. Wishing Stars are associated with event rewards and cosmetic-style items such as furniture, clothing, hairstyles, and recipes; Moonlight Crystals are associated with premium-store items, upgrades, event offers, and some banners. Those shop uses come from community guides, while official notices confirm specific dated rewards and event purchases. Inventory and availability can change, so check the current in-game screens before spending.
What Wishing Stars are used for
Heartopia’s official Echo of Ancients festival announcement lists Wishing Stars among rewards for catalog challenge goals and collection rewards. A separate official maintenance notice dated September 23, 2026, listed a compensation gift of 10 Wishing Stars claimable through the in-game mailbox before the deadline stated in that notice. These are examples tied to particular announcements, not a promise of a recurring reward rate. Heartopia’s official Steam announcements
A community currency guide describes Wishing Stars as a free cosmetic currency that can be used for furniture, clothing, hairstyles, and recipes. Treat that as a guide to typical uses rather than a permanent catalog: check the current shop for the items available and their costs. Heartopia Guide’s currency overview

An official dated example comes from the Heartopia × New Legend of Madame White Snake event. The notice gave the event window as September 30, 2026, 6:00 AM through October 26, 2026, 5:59 AM server time, and said players could spend Moonlight Crystals on limited Oil-Paper Umbrellas. That purchase was specific to the event window; it does not establish that the umbrellas remain available afterward. Heartopia’s official Steam announcements
Community guides describe Moonlight Crystals as a premium-store currency associated with Acorn Store items, upgrades, event tiers, and some banners. One guide recommends considering inventory expansion and other quality-of-life upgrades before optional banner spending. That is community advice, not an official spending rule, and the live store may differ. Heartopia Guide’s currency overview Heartopia.guide’s currencies guide

Wishing Stars
Official examples show Wishing Stars awarded through festival catalog or collection rewards and mailbox compensation. A community guide also lists resident wishes and some social or event actions as possible sources, while noting that methods can vary by patch. The available evidence does not establish a stable daily earning rate. Official announcements Heartopia Guide

Moonlight Crystals and conversion
A January 2026 community guide says Moonlight Crystals can come from exchanging Heart Diamonds and sometimes from codes or events. It cautions that a commonly listed exchange rate may change and advises checking the in-game store. The checked sources do not establish a direct exchange from Wishing Stars to Moonlight Crystals. A possible Heart Diamonds conversion is a different route and does not mean these two currencies can be exchanged for each other. Heartopia.guide’s currencies guide
