Hail to the Rainbow does not have a PS5 or PS5 Pro edition confirmed by the official sources reviewed. Steam lists a Windows PC release, so there are no verified console versions—or title-specific PS5 Pro enhancements—to compare. The developer has confirmed gamepad support and DualSense vibration for the PC version; that does not make the game a PlayStation console release.
Is Hail to the Rainbow on PS5 or PS5 Pro?
The official Steam listing identifies Hail to the Rainbow as a Windows PC game released on November 27, 2025. The listing names Носков Сергей as developer and publisher. The official Steam listing and the developer’s gamepad-support announcement do not confirm a PS5 edition or a PS5 Pro enhancement.

That is a statement about what those sources establish, not proof that a PlayStation port can never be announced. Unless an official PlayStation release or title-specific enhancement is confirmed, there is no reliable basis for comparing console resolution, frame rate, graphics modes, ray tracing, loading times, or PS5 Pro features for this game.

A search result, a controller working with a PC game, or a general description of what a console can do is not enough to establish that this particular game has a console release.

There are two separate questions hidden in the title. First, is there a PS5 version? The official Steam listing and the developer’s December 24, 2025 update do not confirm one. Second, if there is a PS5 version, does it have a PS5 Pro enhancement? Those same materials do not confirm that either. Since the first premise is unconfirmed, there is no confirmed pair of console versions to compare.
PS5, PS5 Pro and PC: what is confirmed?
| Platform or version | What is established | What is not established |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 | A PS5 edition is not confirmed by the official sources reviewed. | Release availability, resolution, frame rate, graphics modes, loading performance and other title-specific details. |
| PS5 Pro | A PS5 Pro edition or enhancement is not confirmed by the official sources reviewed. | Any Pro-specific mode or improvement, including resolution, frame rate, ray tracing or image-quality changes. |
| Windows PC | Listed on Steam, with a November 27, 2025 release date and published PC system requirements. | The listed requirements do not guarantee a particular frame rate or performance on a given computer. |
This is a status comparison, not a benchmark chart. The PC row can include a release date and hardware requirements because Steam publishes those details. The PlayStation rows cannot be filled with equivalent performance figures: no title-specific console specifications have been established in the official materials named here. It would be misleading to put in guessed frame rates, resolutions, or modes simply to make the rows look symmetrical.
The word “different” also needs care here. Ordinarily, a PS5-versus-PS5-Pro comparison would describe confirmed editions of the same game and explain how they differ. For Hail to the Rainbow, the available official platform information does not establish that starting point. There is consequently no verified “standard PS5 version” whose graphics or performance can be contrasted with a Pro version.
What kind of game is the PC release?
Steam describes Hail to the Rainbow as a first-person, story-driven adventure with horror and shooter elements. Its store description follows Ignat, a survivor in a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk setting, and lists exploration, electronic records, technical puzzles, item collection, inventory upgrades and battles. The listing also includes photo mode. These are the publisher’s descriptions of the game, not independent performance findings.
That description helps explain what the confirmed PC release is, but it does not fill in missing PlayStation details. The listing’s references to exploration, puzzles, collecting items, upgrading inventory, and combat are features of the game as described by its publisher. They do not establish which console it runs on, whether it uses a particular graphics mode, or whether a Pro-specific version exists.
Likewise, “photo mode” is a listed feature, not evidence of a platform-specific capture feature or a promise about resolution. The available description does not specify how that mode behaves on a console. Keep the distinction between a game feature named on Steam and a feature confirmed for a particular console.
Can you use a DualSense controller on PC?
Yes. In its December 24, 2025 Steam announcement, “Update 1.05 – Gamepad and Steam Deck support,” the developer said it added gamepad support after reworking the input system. It specifically reported that DualSense vibration works and that the controller’s red light indicator activates at startup for testing purposes. The announcement also reports Steam Deck compatibility.

The developer’s exact statement about the controller is: “Vibration now works on the DualSense controller as well, and at startup a red light indicator is activated for testing purposes.” This is useful confirmation for someone considering the Windows Steam release and a gamepad. It is not a statement that the game has been released for PS5, and it does not describe a PS5 Pro mode.

Controller compatibility and console availability are different things. A DualSense can be used as a controller for the PC version according to the developer’s update; that fact says nothing by itself about whether Sony has a console edition to sell. The same distinction applies to the mention of Steam Deck compatibility: it is a statement about the PC game’s compatibility on that device, not a PlayStation release announcement.
A DualSense is optional in the sense supported by the announcement: the developer added gamepad support, but did not say a controller is required. The announcement does not provide a required accessory list or say that every gamepad feature behaves identically across PC setups. If you want to use a controller, check the Steam listing and current game updates for the latest support details; do not buy a controller on the assumption that it turns the PC edition into a PS5 edition.
For the same reason, the red light detail should be read narrowly. The developer says it activates at startup for testing purposes. The announcement does not identify it as a gameplay feature, a PS5-specific indicator, or evidence of a console port. It is a small implementation detail in the PC gamepad update.

Steam publishes the following Windows PC requirements. They are the listing’s minimum and recommended specifications, not benchmark results or a promise of a particular resolution or frame rate. Steam also says an SSD is recommended.
| Specification | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit |
| Processor | Intel Core i3 6100 | Intel Core i7 4930K |
| Memory | 6 GB RAM | 12 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7850 | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or GTX 1060 |
| DirectX | Version 11 | Version 11 |
| Storage | 15 GB | 15 GB |
The minimum and recommended columns are the PC specifications Steam publishes for the game. The operating-system entry is Windows 10 64-bit in both columns, and DirectX is Version 11 in both. The storage figure is also the same in each column: 15 GB. Steam separately recommends an SSD; that recommendation does not change the listed storage amount.
The processor entries differ: the minimum lists an Intel Core i3 6100, while the recommended entry lists an Intel Core i7 4930K. Memory moves from 6 GB RAM at minimum to 12 GB RAM as recommended. For graphics, the minimum lists an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7850, while the recommended list names an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or GTX 1060. These are the model names as published by Steam; the listing does not provide a corresponding PS5 or PS5 Pro specification.
Use the requirements as a checklist, not as a guarantee. A PC meeting the minimum list is not promised a particular frame rate, resolution, graphics quality, or loading time by those entries. The recommended column likewise does not state a tested frame rate or describe a preset. The Steam page gives hardware requirements; it does not make the figures a direct conversion into console performance.

These specifications also do not answer whether the game is on PlayStation. They apply to the Windows PC listing. A PC that meets or exceeds the published specification is still running the PC version, while a DualSense connected to that PC remains a controller being used with the PC version.
What to do if you want to play it on a PlayStation
- Check for an official platform listing. Look for a PS5 edition on an official PlayStation store page or an announcement from the developer or publisher. A PC listing or controller-support update is not a console-release announcement.
- Check for a separate PS5 Pro claim. Even if a PS5 version is announced, look for explicit information about a PS5 Pro mode or enhancement. A game’s presence on PS5 alone would not establish Pro-specific features.
- Use the Steam listing for the confirmed PC option. Compare your Windows PC with the published requirements above, while treating them as specifications rather than a performance guarantee.
- Keep platform and accessory questions separate. If your immediate question is whether a DualSense works, the developer’s December 24, 2025 update confirms vibration support for the PC version. If your question is whether the game can be installed and played as a PS5 title, that controller statement does not answer yes.
- Recheck official details if availability changes. A later developer or publisher announcement could establish a console release or Pro enhancement. Until such a title-specific announcement appears, do not treat speculation or general console hardware information as confirmation for this game.
This checklist prevents a common mix-up: a peripheral working with a PC game is not the same as that game being offered on the console associated with the peripheral. The evidence needed for a PS5 edition is an official platform listing or announcement. To claim a PS5 Pro difference, the evidence must go further and identify a specific enhancement or mode for this title.
Is there a price or physical PlayStation edition?
The official Steam information described here establishes the PC listing and its system requirements, but the materials do not establish a PlayStation price, a physical PlayStation edition, or a console purchase option. There is no sound basis here for giving a PS5 or PS5 Pro price, comparing console editions by cost, or recommending a physical PlayStation copy.

Steam lists the game and a digital soundtrack on its listing, but that does not establish an Amazon physical edition or an affiliate relationship. For a reader deciding what to buy, the practical distinction is simple: the confirmed option in these official materials is the Windows PC Steam listing. Check the storefront directly for its current availability and price rather than assuming a console listing or a fixed price from an unrelated product page.
A DualSense controller is a possible optional accessory for a PC player who wants gamepad input, not a required purchase and not a way to obtain a console version. The developer confirmed gamepad support and DualSense vibration, but the cited update does not state a controller price, say that the game requires one, or confirm that buying one provides access to a PS5 edition.

There is no confirmed PS5-versus-PS5 Pro comparison to make for Hail to the Rainbow based on the official materials cited here. The verified platform information is the Windows PC Steam release, including developer-confirmed gamepad support for PC. Console availability and any PS5 Pro enhancements remain unconfirmed by those sources.
If you came looking for a comparison of resolution, frame rate, ray tracing, loading, or image quality, there are no title-specific PlayStation figures to responsibly report. If you want to play the confirmed PC version, Steam provides a release date and Windows requirements, and the developer has reported gamepad, DualSense vibration, and Steam Deck support. Keep those facts in their proper scope: they describe the PC release, not a PS5 or PS5 Pro edition.
