This review covers the Australian and New Zealand model with the exact suffix HRF130UW2; the HRF130UW and black HRF130UG2 are different models or variants.
What the HRF130UW2 is designed to do
Haier lists 129L of capacity in Australia and New Zealand. The appliance is a full-fridge bar refrigerator, so its role is to add chilled storage for fresh food and beverages rather than provide a freezer compartment. That makes it most relevant as a secondary fridge, or where a compact refrigerator is enough for the intended contents.

Storage details differ slightly between the regional product pages. Haier Australia refers to space for 1.25L and 2L bottles; Haier New Zealand describes space for 1.5L and 2.25L bottles. Interior layout and everyday features
Haier specifies two adjustable glass shelves, three full-width door shelves, a crisper bin and LED interior lighting. The adjustable shelves allow some flexibility for taller items, while the door shelves provide separate space for bottles and smaller containers. Haier also lists its H-DEO deodoriser.

Temperature adjustment is manual, and defrosting is manual too. The door is reversible, which can help adapt the opening direction to a room layout; confirm the hinge arrangement and any reversal instructions for your specific unit before installation.
Will it fit your space?
Haier Australia’s 2026 guide gives external dimensions of 850 mm high × 545 mm wide × 566 mm deep. These are appliance dimensions, not the amount of clearance required around it.

The same manufacturer specification guide gives cavity figures of 900 mm high, 595 mm wide and 616 mm minimum deep. Haier says that guide is not installation guidance and directs buyers to the model-specific installation information supplied with the product or available on its site. Use that current installation information to check clearances, ventilation and door movement rather than treating the cavity figures as a substitute. Measure the route into the room as well as the final location.
Energy use and noise: what the published figures mean
For Australia, Haier publishes an energy use figure of 100 kWh per year and a 4.5-star rating in its 2026 guide. Haier New Zealand also lists a 4.5-star rating. These are manufacturer-published figures; check the current energy label on the exact unit and use the rating applicable to your market when comparing refrigerators.

Haier publishes noise emissions of 38 dBA. This is a specification, not an independent measurement of how loud the appliance will seem in your room.
What independent testing can—and cannot—tell you
CHOICE’s public listing shows a 2026 test year for the HRF130UW2, but the expert rating and detailed performance scores are available only to members. The public listing therefore does not establish how well this model holds temperature or performs in other test categories. The specifications above come from Haier, not hands-on testing for this review.

If temperature consistency or another measured performance result is central to your decision, do not infer it from capacity, energy rating or noise figures. Look for accessible test results for this exact model, or compare it with appliances whose relevant test data you can inspect.
Regional listings and price context
Haier New Zealand listed an RRP of NZ$549 on 7 October 2026. Separately, CHOICE’s Australian product listing showed A$329 on that date. These are snapshots from different countries and sources, not a like-for-like current price comparison. Check local retailers and the current manufacturer listing for the price and availability where you live.

Who should consider the HRF130UW2?
The model is worth considering if you want a compact, full-fridge appliance and its 129L capacity, shelf arrangement and external dimensions suit your space. Its manual temperature control and manual defrost are important trade-offs for anyone seeking more automated operation. Because independent performance scores are not publicly visible on the CHOICE listing, buyers who need verified temperature-test results should make that evidence a separate part of their comparison.
