You can’t install the full Grand Theft Auto V as a native Android or iPhone app based on the official Rockstar listings reviewed. Rockstar lists PC and PlayStation 5 editions, while its mobile games and companion apps are separate products. If you want to play GTA V, use a supported PC or console; if you want a GTA game on your phone, check Rockstar’s current mobile catalog and the relevant app store.
Is GTA V available as a native Android or iPhone download?
Rockstar’s official listings reviewed do not show a native Android or iOS version of the full game. The Rockstar store listing surfaced for GTA V is for PC, including GTAV Enhanced and Legacy through the Rockstar Games Launcher; a separate official listing is for PlayStation 5. Neither is a phone app, and neither can be installed as a native mobile game. Rockstar’s PC listing and its PlayStation 5 listing are platform-specific.

What are the legitimate ways to play GTA V?
Use the PC edition on a computer
Rockstar’s PC store listing offers the game for the Rockstar Games Launcher. It is a PC edition, not a mobile download; buying it does not create a phone app.

Use the PlayStation 5 edition on a console
The separate PlayStation Store listing is for PlayStation 5. It likewise does not install or run as a native iOS or Android game.
How to find a different GTA game for your phone
Rockstar’s downloads page separates PC and Mac games from its mobile games and apps. If you mean a GTA title other than GTA V, search the exact game title in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, then confirm that the official listing is available in your region and supports your device.

- Open Rockstar’s downloads page and look under “Mobile Games & Apps” for the title you want.
- Open the corresponding official Apple App Store or Google Play listing rather than downloading an installer from an unrelated site.
- Check the listing’s current availability and compatibility details before installing. Rockstar says requirements vary by game, platform, and supported operating system, and directs players to those store listings for current requirements: Rockstar Games Android and iOS game system requirements.
What GTA+ mobile access includes
GTA+ access to mobile games is not access to GTA V as a phone app. Rockstar Support’s article, last updated December 1, 2025, says members can access Android and iOS titles included in the GTA+ Games Library and play them while they remain included. Rockstar’s surfaced guidance specifically describes Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition for compatible mobile devices; check the current library and the store listing for the title you want because included games may rotate. Are iFruit or The Manual the full GTA V game?
No. Rockstar’s September 16, 2013 announcement described iFruit and Grand Theft Auto V: The Manual as companion applications for smartphones and other devices, not as the full game. The Manual provided game information, while iFruit offered features connected to GTA V. That historic announcement does not establish that either app is still available in today’s stores. Why an unofficial GTA V APK is not a real solution
An APK advertised as “GTA V for Android” is not an official native GTA V download established by Rockstar’s listings reviewed here. Do not treat an unofficial installer, emulator, streaming service, or companion app as the official full game for phones. The official PC and console listings are for those platforms, and Rockstar’s mobile catalog is separate. There is no official GTA V mobile download size, phone system requirement, or mobile price established by the sources cited here.
