As of October 7, 2026, Rockstar has not announced a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI or published PC system requirements. Its official game listing names PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a release date of November 19, 2026. There is no evidence-based GTA 6 PC upgrade list yet, so wait rather than buying hardware specifically for this game.
What platforms and release date has Rockstar confirmed?
Rockstar’s official GTA VI page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a November 19, 2026 release date for those versions. Rockstar Support’s platform, editions, and versions page, last updated August 18, 2026, likewise describes pre-orders for those consoles and does not list a PC version or PC requirements.

In its June 24, 2026 Newswire announcement, Rockstar described GTA VI as a single-player experience coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S: “Grand Theft Auto VI is a single player experience, coming November 19 to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.” That announcement also does not establish whether a PC version will be announced later.
What PC specs does GTA 6 require?
Rockstar has not published minimum or recommended PC specifications in the official sources checked. That means there are no confirmed targets for processor, graphics card, memory, operating system, or storage. Any online list presenting GTA 6 PC requirements as fact is unofficial unless Rockstar publishes those specifications.

- Powered by Radeon RX 9070 XT
- WINDFORCE Cooling System
- Hawk Fan
- Server-grade Thermal Conductive Gel
- RGB Lighting
Console versions do not establish PC requirements: a PC release and its hardware targets have not been confirmed in these sources. Without those targets, it is not possible to match a particular component to a GTA VI requirement or make a reliable game-specific performance recommendation.
Should you upgrade your PC before GTA 6?
No—not specifically for GTA VI. Avoid buying a graphics card, CPU, RAM, storage, or a whole gaming PC on the assumption that it will meet requirements that have not been announced. Waiting preserves the option to choose hardware based on actual specifications rather than rumor.

- NVIDIA Ampere Streaming Multiprocessors: The all-new Ampere SM brings 2X the FP32 throughput and improved power efficiency.
- 2nd Generation RT Cores: Experience 2X the throughput of 1st gen RT Cores, plus concurrent RT and shading for a whole new level of ray-tracing performance.
- 3rd Generation Tensor Cores: Get up to 2X the throughput with structural sparsity and advanced AI algorithms such as DLSS. These cores deliver a massive boost in game performance and all-new AI capabilities.
- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure.
- OC Mode : 1500 MHz (Boost Clock)/Default Mode : 1470 MHz (Boost Clock)
If Rockstar announces a PC version and releases requirements, compare your current hardware against the official minimum and recommended CPU, GPU, memory, storage, and operating-system specifications. Then factor in your intended resolution and performance target before deciding whether an upgrade is worthwhile.
Where to check for confirmed PC information
Before making a purchase, check Rockstar’s GTA VI game page and its platform, editions, and versions support information for updates. The sources checked as of October 7, 2026 do not confirm a PC release, its timing, or PC requirements; future availability remains unknown.
