Which consoles will play GTA 6?

Does GTA 6 actually run better on PS5?
Rockstar’s official GTA VI page says “Plays Best On PS5.” Its extended-look page describes that video as “Captured entirely from in-game footage on the PlayStation 5.” These statements identify Rockstar’s promotional framing and the footage’s capture platform; neither provides a measured PS5-versus-Xbox comparison.

The available official material does not establish GTA VI resolution, frame rate, visual quality, or platform-specific features on either console. Treat a claim that one version is technically superior as unverified unless Rockstar or reliable testing provides comparable results. Rockstar’s pages are the GTA VI page and the extended look.
What do the console specifications tell you—and what don’t they?
Manufacturer specifications provide hardware context, but they are not a substitute for a GTA VI benchmark. Microsoft lists a 12-TFLOPS custom RDNA 2 GPU with 52 compute units for Series X. Sony’s manual for the listed CFI-21XX PS5 model gives a 10-TFLOPS GPU, along with 8 CPU cores/16 threads, 16 GB GDDR6 memory, and a 1 TB custom SSD. - Total cost where you live: Compare current local console prices, the game price in your region, and any accessories or subscriptions you actually need. Take-Two announced a US game price of $79.99; that is the game price, not the price of either console, and the announcement does not provide a regional price table.
