Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the fictional state of Leonida and includes Vice City and five other named destinations. It has not published the map’s exact outer boundary, confirmed that every location is fully explorable, or said when each area becomes accessible. The announced release date is November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What places has Rockstar confirmed in GTA 6?
Rockstar identifies Leonida as the game’s setting and names these destinations in its official “Only in Leonida” material:

These are confirmed place names, not a complete geographic inventory or proof of each location’s exact footprint on the playable map. Rockstar’s GTA VI page presents the setting and its destinations.
Where does the GTA 6 map end?
Rockstar has not published a definitive boundary or total area in the official material reviewed. The sources do not establish the map’s northern, southern, eastern, or western edge, the extent of its water boundaries, how islands connect, or whether all scenery shown in trailers can be traversed.

In its May 6, 2025 Trailer 2 announcement, Rockstar invited players to “Explore Vice City and beyond” and described a criminal conspiracy “stretching across the state of Leonida.” Those statements establish a state-wide setting and exploration beyond Vice City, but they do not define a measurable border. Can you explore all of Leonida, and is all of Vice City open?
Those access details have not been confirmed in the official sources reviewed. Rockstar has not stated whether every named region is explorable, whether all of Vice City is open, or whether some locations are restricted to particular missions or story progress. A place appearing in promotional material or having a confirmed name does not establish how much of it players can enter.

When can you explore the Keys and other regions?
The announced release date is November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not published region-by-region unlock timing, including when players can reach the Leonida Keys. Whether areas are open from the start or become available as the story progresses remains unconfirmed in the reviewed material.
