No. Rockstar does not support transferring a GTA 5 Story Mode save from PlayStation or Xbox to PC. Its documented Story Mode migration is limited to moving a save from PS4 or Xbox One to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar explicitly excludes PC saves. Rockstar’s Story Mode migration instructions describe that console-only route.
Why a console save cannot move to PC
Rockstar’s supported Story Mode migration procedure does not include PC as a destination. The official support article, last updated May 1, 2024, states: “PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 saves cannot be migrated.” That means there is no Rockstar-supported way to continue a PS4 or Xbox One Story Mode save on the PC version.

Do not treat Rockstar Games Launcher cloud sync as a workaround. Rockstar lists Story Mode Save Sync via Rockstar Cloud for supported Launcher titles, but that feature listing does not document a way to import a console save onto PC. Rockstar documents a one-time Story Mode migration from PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. The procedure requires the relevant console account to be linked to the preferred Rockstar Games account.

- This game will no longer support Windows 7 or 8 operating systems starting January 30, 2024.
- On the old console: open the in-game Pause Menu and go to Game > Upload Save Game to upload the save.
- On the new console: use the Landing Page or Pause Menu to download the uploaded save.
Rockstar’s migration article, last updated May 1, 2024, sets these limits for that console migration:
- Only one save can be uploaded per console.
- The uploaded save is available to download for 90 days.
- After a successful download, the article says further uploads from that account cannot be made under this process.
- Progress made on the old console after migration does not transfer; progress on the old and new consoles is separate after the move.
Those rules apply only to the documented PS4/Xbox One-to-newer-console move; they do not create a PC transfer option. Rockstar’s Story Mode migration instructions

GTA Online progression is a separate system
A GTA Online profile is not the same thing as a Story Mode save. Rockstar’s character-transfer rules cover GTA Online and do not support moving a profile from a PlayStation or Xbox console family to PC. There is also a separate GTA Online migration between PC Legacy and Enhanced editions. That is a PC-version progression move, not a way to bring console Story Mode progress to PC.
