Gray Zone Warfare’s Steam-hosted End User License Agreement (EULA) identifies Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) as its anti-cheat system. The EULA describes monitoring for cheat software and unauthorized game modifications, but MADFINGER has not published the detection rules or evidence threshold used to decide an individual case. The publisher has publicly described planned wallhack-detection improvements and reported temporary suspensions and account wipes in one investigated exploit case.
What anti-cheat does Gray Zone Warfare use?
The Gray Zone Warfare EULA hosted on Steam names Easy Anti-Cheat, not BattlEye. It says EAC runs with the game and monitors system processes and game files to detect cheating software and unauthorized modifications. The EULA says that monitoring may involve memory and file-system interactions, and that information needed to identify cheating may include system specifications, unique hardware identifiers, and in-game interactions. Those are statements in the EULA, not an independent account of what was collected in a particular case. The document does not establish exactly what data was gathered about a specific player, how long it is retained, or which signal triggered an enforcement decision.
How does Gray Zone Warfare detect cheats?
MADFINGER Games has acknowledged work on detection without publishing operational details. In a March 18, 2026 developer devlog, the team said: “Update 0.4 will improve wallhack detection and banning.” It also said it could not share specifics because it needed to stay ahead of cheat developers, and that further improvements were planned. This describes development direction; it does not reveal how wallhacks are detected, what evidence is required, or how a specific ban was reached. The reviewed official sources do not publish detection thresholds, confidence levels, a false-positive rate, a total number of cheater bans, or a complete enforcement policy. Claims about another anti-cheat product’s methods should not be treated as explanations of Gray Zone Warfare’s system.
What can lead to suspension or a ban?
The EULA prohibits cheating, exploit abuse, unauthorized third-party software and unauthorized modifications. Its examples include aimbots, wallhacks, speedhacks, resource hacking, and macros that automate actions beyond human speed. It also says that attempting to disable or interfere with EAC may lead to penalties, including suspension or a ban.
The EULA does not provide a whitelist of approved overlays, macros, controller utilities, RGB software, or other third-party tools. Whether a particular program is permitted cannot be established from the general rule alone; players should not assume that a tool is safe merely because it is commonly used with other games.

In a September 18, 2026 security report, MADFINGER described an item-duplication exploit that occurred under specific circumstances involving death by helicopter during the Update 0.4 cycle. The publisher said a later hotfix addressed the issue and made it no longer replicable. It reported that some players used duplicated resources to gain an unfair advantage, including repeatedly buying and using large quantities of mortar strikes against other players.

After an investigation, MADFINGER said it had identified close to 40 accounts that deliberately exploited the issue and announced temporary account suspensions and account wipes. “Close to 40” is the publisher’s approximate figure for this case—not an exact count or a total for all cheater bans. The report does not identify players, map individual penalties to accounts, disclose the evidence reviewed, or set out a comprehensive sanction ladder. Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How do you appeal a Gray Zone Warfare ban?
The EULA directs players to the game’s official support section to submit an appeal through the official website. Explain clearly why you believe the ban is mistaken and include details that let support assess the case.
- Open the official Gray Zone Warfare support section and use its current ban-appeal route.
- State your account name and the ban date, then explain why you believe the enforcement was mistaken.
- Attach relevant evidence where available. The EULA lists timestamps, screenshots, logs, chat histories, video captures, and other relevant files as examples.
- Keep the email address associated with the account current, watch for follow-up questions, and reply with requested information.
The EULA gives a typical review estimate of 7–14 days, depending on case complexity and appeal volume. It is an estimate in mutable EULA text, not a guaranteed response time. The EULA says a ban will be lifted and the account reinstated if the review finds it was a false positive; that does not predict the result of any individual appeal.
