Other companies, including Moore Threads and Innosilicon, also list GPU cards or accelerators, while Imagination Technologies licenses GPU designs for other manufacturers to integrate. Those are different roles, and a listed product is not proof of broad availability or a drop-in gaming-card alternative.
What counts as a GPU maker?
“GPU maker” can describe several different businesses. Some design discrete graphics processors or cards; others sell accelerators aimed at computing workloads; still others design GPU IP that a chip manufacturer incorporates into a larger product. Device makers also build integrated GPUs into CPUs and system-on-chips, a broader category than the desktop-card question most shoppers have in mind.

- Discrete GPU line: A separate graphics processor or graphics card, such as Intel Arc.
- Compute accelerator: Hardware that may focus on AI, scientific computing, rendering, or servers rather than games.
- GPU IP supplier: A company that licenses designs to manufacturers instead of selling its own mainstream retail card.
- Board maker: A company that assembles or sells a card using another company’s GPU silicon; this does not necessarily make it a separate GPU silicon designer.
Which companies make GPUs beyond Nvidia and AMD?
Intel: the most direct desktop-card alternative
Intel’s Arc series is its discrete GPU line for gaming, content creation, and professional applications. That makes it the most straightforward answer for someone looking for another desktop GPU maker. A product line’s existence does not establish the current price, stock, or suitability of a particular model; those details vary by model and region.
Moore Threads: graphics cards and accelerators
Moore Threads’ official catalog lists MTT graphics cards and accelerators for uses including AI training and inference, rendering, video, and display. The catalog lists the MTT S80 with PCIe Gen5 x16, 16GB of memory, and support for DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan, and OpenCL. These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent benchmark results, and the catalog does not establish broad availability outside its target market. See Moore Threads’ product catalog.

Innosilicon: commercial GPU products
Innosilicon’s GPU page lists the Fenghua 1, Fenghua 2, and Fenghua 3 families, with applications described across desktop, server, embedded, and other settings. The company lists Fenghua 2 as a PCIe 3.0 x8 product supporting several graphics and compute APIs, with a stated power range of 4–15 W. These are vendor specifications, not independent test results. View Innosilicon’s GPU product page and Fenghua 2 specifications.
Innosilicon announced Fenghua 3 on 2025-09-26 after a product event held on 2025-09-22. The company positions it for AI training and inference, scientific computing, and rendering, and makes claims about memory capacity and software compatibility. Those claims are the company’s, not independent verification. Read Innosilicon’s Fenghua 3 announcement.

Imagination Technologies: GPU designs for manufacturers
Imagination Technologies is relevant as a GPU IP supplier, not as an established seller of mainstream consumer graphics cards. Its D-Series material describes designs for manufacturers and mentions uses that include mobile devices and specialist desktop or cloud-gaming cards. See Imagination’s D-Series overview.

Lisuan Tech: a reported gaming-card entrant
A Tom’s Hardware report dated 2026-04-29 says Lisuan Tech’s LX 7G100 received Microsoft WHQL certification and describes it as the company’s gaming card, distinct from its workstation and server models. WHQL certification is relevant to driver and ecosystem progress, but does not establish worldwide availability, a mature game library, or performance parity with established cards. Read the report on Lisuan Tech’s certification.

Which alternative matters if you want a gaming PC?
Start with Intel Arc if you want a discrete desktop card from outside the two long-established names. Moore Threads and Innosilicon have GPU products in their catalogs, but the cited catalog information alone does not show whether a specific card is readily sold or supported where you live, or how it performs in the games and software you use. Imagination’s cited role is licensing GPU IP, not offering a retail card to buy.
The market has historically been heavily concentrated in Nvidia- and AMD-based add-in cards: Jon Peddie Research estimated that about 9.5 million add-in VGA cards shipped in 2Q2024, with Nvidia-based cards accounting for about 88% and AMD-based cards about 12%, as reproduced in a 2024 HKEX filing. This is a historical estimate for that quarter’s add-in-card market, not a current share figure for every kind of GPU. See the 2024 HKEX filing reproducing the estimate.

How to assess a GPU outside the established choices
Do not compare a product’s headline specifications alone. Match the card to the workload and check practical support before treating it as an alternative.

- Workload: Establish whether the product is intended for gaming, workstation use, AI, servers, embedded systems, or another task.
- Software and drivers: Check operating-system support, driver maturity, and compatibility with the APIs and applications you need. A list of supported APIs does not prove that a particular game or program works well.
- Memory and power: Confirm capacity, bandwidth, the required slot and power connections, and whether your case and cooling can accommodate the card.
- Local access and support: Verify sales and warranty coverage in your country; a manufacturer catalog is not proof of local retail stock.
- Independent performance: Look for tests using the same workload and comparable test conditions, then compare performance per price. The cited material does not provide a controlled benchmark across all the companies covered here.
