Google is extending Pixel Connected Camera to 11 more communication and work apps, including Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Slack. Android Authority reported on October 8, 2026 that the change arrives through Pixel Camera Services version 4.1.977867365.00 on the Play Store and raises the number of supported apps from five to 16. Whether your Pixel can use this depends on the phone model and on which camera you want to use as the second source.
What the update adds
Connected Camera lets a Pixel receive video from an external camera and pass it into a supported app as the camera feed. Until now, Google’s own help page has listed five supported apps. Android Authority’s report adds 11 more, which would bring the total to 16. The two sources do not currently agree, so the table below separates what each one says.

The official help page may simply not reflect the expansion yet. Until Google updates that page, treat the 16-app total as Android Authority’s reading of the rollout rather than as a complete official list.
What Connected Camera does
Google describes the feature as a way to capture or stream from a Pixel through a supported camera app while using an external camera, such as another Pixel, a GoPro, or a USB camera. Android Authority reports two behaviours that matter in a live call: the multi-camera feed keeps the host app’s own filters and effects, and you can switch between camera views during a stream. Those points come from that report; they describe how the feature is meant to behave, and they have not been verified on hardware for this article.

Which Pixel and camera combinations work
Eligibility depends on your phone model and the source camera. Google Pixel Help sets the rules below. The app expansion does not change them.

Menu labels for cross-device services differ between Android versions and phone models, so follow Google’s current Pixel Help instructions for the exact path rather than relying on a label copied from another guide.

- A spare Pixel that meets the rules. This avoids buying hardware, but both phones must share an account and have cross-device services enabled. A Pixel 10 or Pixel A-Series phone cannot serve as the source.
- A GoPro. Google lists GoPro as a supported source category. The evidence does not establish any specific GoPro model as compatible, so confirm the model against Google’s current instructions before you buy. A camera you can mount at a different angle suits a live demo or a workspace you move around.
- A USB camera. Google lists USB cameras as a source category, but no particular brand or product was verified. A wired camera suits a fixed desk or studio position. It is also the only external option on a Pixel Tablet.
Rollout and troubleshooting
Android Authority says the new compatibility should become available automatically across supported apps on eligible hardware once Pixel Camera Services is updated. It describes the update as rolling out through the Play Store from October 8, 2026, and does not give a country-specific schedule. If the feature does not appear right away, work through these checks:
- Open the Google Play Store, search for Pixel Camera Services, and confirm the installed version is 4.1.977867365.00 or later.
- On a Pixel-to-Pixel setup, confirm both phones use the same Google Account and have cross-device services turned on.
- Confirm your Pixel model is eligible under the table above.
- Check that the app you want is one of the 11 added apps listed earlier. If it is not, it is outside the expansion reported by Android Authority.
- If the app is on the list and everything else checks out, wait and check again. The rollout has no published per-country timetable.
What is still unconfirmed
Three points remain open. First, Google’s own help page still lists only five apps, so the 16-app total rests on Android Authority’s reporting. Second, no country-specific rollout timetable has been published. Third, the filter and camera-switching behaviour is described in the report and has not been independently checked. Verify the app list and your device’s eligibility before you plan a meeting or stream around the feature.
