Alphabet’s 2025 annual filing says Google handles “trillions of searches” each year, without specifying an annual total or daily average. The same filing reports $224.532 billion in 2025 revenue for “Google Search & other,” while Google separately says its AI Mode feature surpassed 1 billion monthly active users in 2026. These are different measures, not interchangeable estimates of how many people search Google.
How many Google searches happen per day in 2026?
The latest inspected primary-source disclosure does not establish a precise daily number. Alphabet’s 2025 Form 10-K says Google has “trillions of searches on Google every year,” but provides neither an exact annual count nor a daily total. Because “trillions” is a broad range, dividing it into a daily figure would create false precision.

So the reliable answer is that Google processes trillions of searches annually, according to Alphabet, but the exact daily volume is not stated in that filing. Treat precise daily counts repeated elsewhere as estimates unless they identify a dated source and explain how the number was measured.

What is Google Search & other revenue?
Alphabet reported $224.532 billion in “Google Search & other” revenue for 2025, compared with $198.084 billion in 2024. These are annual company-reported revenue figures, not search counts, a per-search price, or a figure labeled solely as search advertising.
| Fiscal year | Alphabet-reported Google Search & other revenue |
|---|---|
| 2024 | $198.084 billion |
| 2025 | $224.532 billion |
Alphabet said the 2025 increase reflected several factors: more search queries associated with user adoption and mobile usage, advertiser spending, and improvements to ad formats and delivery. The filing therefore does not support attributing the revenue increase to query growth alone.
How many people use Google Search or AI Mode?
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said in remarks published July 22, 2026, that AI Mode had surpassed 1 billion monthly active users following its global expansion the previous October. He also said, “Our AI-powered features are driving increased Search usage.” These are Google-reported statements about AI features; the 1 billion figure is for AI Mode, not a total count of Google Search users.
A monthly active-user figure measures users of a product or feature over a month. It does not reveal how many searches those users perform, nor does it by itself establish the total number of people using Google Search.

What do the available figures say about Google’s website traffic?
In an August 6, 2025 post, Google VP and Head of Search Liz Reid said, “Overall, total organic click volume from Google Search to websites has been relatively stable year-over-year.” That is Google’s account of its own data, not an independently measured global traffic series. Reid also noted that traffic shifts among websites, so aggregate stability does not mean every publisher’s traffic stayed the same.
Google said AI Overviews can prompt longer, more complex questions, while some quick-answer searches may be satisfied directly on the results page. Those points help explain why search activity, clicks to websites, and an individual site’s referral traffic are distinct measures.

Does Google have a stated search market share for 2026?
The primary-source figures cited here do not establish a dated global search-engine market-share number for 2026. Market-share results depend on the measurement provider, geography, device scope, and month; a figure without those details cannot be treated as a comparable global statistic. No precise 2026 share is included here.

What do Google’s click claims mean for zero-click searches?
Google has disputed interpretations of zero-click studies. In a March 24, 2021 post, Google Public Liaison for Search Danny Sullivan argued that query reformulations and other behavior can be counted as zero-clicks even when they are part of a broader search journey. He also said Google sends billions of clicks to websites every day. That is a historical Google claim and a company explanation of measurement; it is not an independently verified current daily series or a definitive refutation of every third-party study.
